Hello TLers,
I'm here today to talk a bit about accusations made without grounds to back them up. These accusations turn into rumeurs and really spread like a wild fire. Fact is, most people can go without seeing any facts and believe what they're told. What I want to tell you is this is ridiculous, don't believe anything you're told unless 1) you don't care 2) there is concrete evidence to back it up.
To give you some background information on why I am writing this (for those of you who don't know). I am currently the commissioner of the two largest Starcraft: Brood War team leagues in the foreign community, those being the Twitch.TV Gambit's Cup (Clan League) and the Altitude Nation Wars (co-organized). For a while now, people have accused me of abuse without ever having any evidence to support their claims and I've proved them wrong time and time again. Always justify my actions, but they still blindly accuse. Now, realistically, I don't care about accusations and all that childish crap, what I do have a problem with is time wasting. If people start wasting my time on top of all the time I've already put into the community, then it becomes a problem. It's so many different things people do to waste my time because "Oh Eywa- knows X and X person, he must be an abuser".
For instance, twice this week, people have refused to submit draws. Which generally, I would just W.O them if they do that, however, these cases it would pretty much ruin the league if I W.O'd someone in a semi-final and/or Final match. Both cases I had their opponent's player long before their own.
It's just frustrating that every week, something new comes up when in the end I'm just trying to help out. If there are no leagues, who's going to keep everyone interested?
Now I ask you all, fellow BW members, what is there in it for me? Why would I cheat? I gain nothing from doing so, I've never cheated in the past. There isn't even any money in it for me, you'd hear it from the USA players if they only got 1/2 their cut because someone was paid to cheat for them.
So, What do we look at when evaluating a crime?
Motive Alibi Evidence
1) No motive 2) Obviously impossible to give on the Internet so kind of disregarded 3) No evidence
I don't care if you accuse me of cheating, just don't waste my time with it.
Regards,
Eywa-

I think you are doing a great job. There is no way to please everyone. Without you, what would we have left in the foreign scene?

Something tells me this rumour hasn't spread like wildfire because I haven't heard of any of it. I was going to be rude and say something like "I'll take option #1" but honestly I think you just need to chill a bit. It sucks that the foreign scene is so unreliable and even at the semi-finals/finals people don't care enough to be responsible, but that's also why this rumour isn't going to spread and why no one really cares. Just focus on what you can do and don't worry about publicly going on record that you're not a cheater or whatever. It changes nothing if you say 'I'm not guilty!' (not that I have any reason to believe you are because I have no idea who you are).

set some examples, then ppl will start to take heed.

This is a pretty over-dramatic response to some posts people made in one thread that has barely 1k views :S

Detectives always look at the evidence first, from the evidence you can construct a theory, and a working theory have a list of motives and you use alibi to knock out some of those motives so the detective can single out the most logical working theory of how a crime happened.
I would say you seem guilty of whatever by just posting this, because if you really has no gain you wouldn't have put up with this bullshit and just stop working for whatever for free. Just like Miki the translator and the whole bullshit that went down.
Actions speaks louder than words in this case, if you feel so frustrated by all this, then just tell them to fuck themselves and look for someone else to replace you.

Emphasis mine
I think that's a poorly thought out option. It's possible he cares about the scene or the tournaments he runs, and felt that the only adequate response to his frustration was to make this blog post. It would be rather immature to just walk away from everything like that.
Also who is Miki the translator I have not heard of this person.

Sorry that was poorly-thought-through internet sarcasm. It always sounds so good when I write it, but of course, tone isn't easily conveyed over the internet-- and as soon as someone who's not me personally reads it it makes more sense. But yeah I know he meant (insert Kellymilkies joke here)

Just ignore it. Probably some stupid trolls who want to piss you off and had their team lose or something...
Calm down, handle the situation appropriately. That's all I have to say.

Now, I'm not saying you cheated. But I could think of several motives for someone in your position to cheat. An easy scam would be for one of the players to guarentee a percentage of their winnings to you in return for helping them win. Also manipulating brackets could result in more "exciting" matchups and therefore more stream views and higher ad revenue. There is also the "helping my friend" factor to consider as well.
Again, I'm not trying to say you cheated and it does sound like the accusations are baseless; but there are reasons for someone in a position like yourself would cheat.
