Sooo last season before lock I was #1 master random... it locked so I got super bored and just fucked around gave free wins etc.. my MMR fell to plat.

I got placed into diamond in the new season and im just owning kids -- still messing around... i'm bored as fuck because I'm not getting promoted. I'm pretty sure i'm the #1 diamond in the world .. havent seen anyone with over 300 points and I have over 400.

I wonder if I have to lose once in order to be promoted... I'm playing all masters people (not even low masters)

Or maybe since masters is top 2%... and mostly masters play immediately right after the new season I can't get promoted? I don't know -- but this is really dumb.

I know I shouldn't of deranked and shit but ladder was locked and I thought it would be easy to get back.....

Hey my match history is ALMOST as good in my past 10 ladder games...

1 loss to a cheesy protoss...

I'm thinking that the system pretty much always works in the long run. Mass games, be patient, and you will get promoted

You gain/loose 12 points (+ added bonus pool up to double what you gained) for beating an opponent the matchmaking system considers equally skilled. If you are facing low masters and getting that many points per game, the system doesnt consider you to be significantly better than them yet and you just need to play more games.

I heard it takes 30 games to reset ladder ranking effectively but nothing to back that up, ive hit winstreaks of 15-20 before without promotion more than once

haha xD, i remember when i beat you on ladder last season. Im pretty sure that you actually have to LOSE one match before you can promote back to masters. I don't know why, but it just seems to be the way that the promotion system works :/, lose one match to confirm your mmr, then promote you when you win again.

MMR moves a lot faster than you might think. Just keep playing! Remember, a league is nothing more than some shiny pixels on your screen.

That actually happened if you look at the pictures.

I'm thinking that if you're really telling the truth that your MMR is getting too high right now and therefore you won't get promoted into masters, but right into GM after it is there.
