I ladder on 2 accounts, Primarily because I thought I could use my "Smurf" account (Dont ask why or how i got it) to warm up or practice new builds for laddering on my "Main" account
however, overtime I noticed I would still lose to bad players on my main account, however on my Smurf account, I would destroy people and maintain a decent win%
For some reason, an account I originally deemed for practice and warming up, has become higher ranked then the account I intended to play seriously on.
I feel like my whenever I play on my main account, I am on a permanent tilt from which I cannot recover.
Here are my finishes for season 5:
Main acount:

Sometimes I feel as if when I play on my main account, I'm much more sucestabile to losing to various cheeses and random timings. I try to stay as focused as possible, sometimes even listening to music.
I try to pretend as if I dont care about either account in the hopes that I will have a more relaxed mentality going into each game on my main account. But with every silly and dissapointing loss (losses due to random luck timings or really noobie mistakes on my part such as supply blocking while defending a timing push, or forgetting to start an upgrade/tech path) My mentality only gets worse.
Its almost as if each of my different accounts has its own personality, One of them is good at SC2, the other is pretty bad -____-

Haha that's very interesting AGIANTSMURF.
Figures things would go exactly the opposite of how you expect XD
|
Except that now that you've noticed this pattern, you'll probably start to be nervous while playing your smurf, and relaxed on your main.
|
haha this is so true. you become your smurf identity if you can conceal it well enough. and this identity may be a bit more bm than your own!
|
Yo smurf so giant, you take two lines in the left menu of TL.

yeah i feel misled by the title lol... also, I wouldn't call that different personalities. but yeah i could see that being funny, logging onto the smurf account and keep winning, "wtf, need to lose so i can play on my main", keep winning

Lol, not much of a smurf. All I had to do was click on humble or dime's account to find that division =P.

i think it might be an mmr thing...like for me i go on serious losing streaks when i tilt so my mmr is shit on ladder yet i can still play evenly with my teammates and borderline GM level players (which is part of the reason i hate ladder...because i tilt so often on it the practice i get when my mind is in the right place is basically nonexistant)

My performance in sc2 but more measurably in Osu drops so much when i am stressed or anxious it is pretty funny, you are probably just subconsciously more comfortable on your "smurf account" so you play slightly better
|
Yeah way to censor your name lol.
|
Oh, the coincidental irony :D
Does your smurf have smurf in the name?
|
|
LOL I didnt even need to stalk one of the other people, thats totally my freaking division !
|
when i used to play sc2 i had one account that i strictly 1v1 laddered on and another where i did lulzy things like customs, 4v4's and cheesing as random in 1v1. Very different mentalities for the two

Did you start the smurf at a different time than the main? As I understand it, different divisions of master can have different skill levels. So even if you have more points in one division, you might have a lower MMR.
That said, I haven't read the ladder guide in quite some time. Please read Excalibur's great thread.
|
This happens because you tend to gain mmr much more rapidly on an alt account vs a main one so you catch up to your main's mmr very quickly and probably even exceed it easily.

Was your censorship of your name on purpose or a joke.

I'm guessing it was a joke. I'm also guessing he used to use his smurf to help him ghost some games. >.>
