I tried everything I could, took it into the Verizon store, and they couldn't get a pulse either. Such a strange error.. I googled "Galaxy Nexus won't turn on" and apparently other people have had the same problem as well. I'm really impressed with Verizon's customer service though. Nobody at the store could explain what happened so the manager gave me a new phone on the spot and I was up and running again in no time. I was so distraught that I forgot I transferred some of my pictures to my laptop to upload to facebook before it bricked, so I actually didn't lose as much as I thought ![]() The phone is really beautiful and once they work out the service issue it will be even better. Backup remembered every single app I downloaded to my previous Galaxy Nexus (except, oddly enough, facebook ^.^), so it wasn't all bad. I guess the moral of this story is (1) sign up for Google+ and (2) spend $5 for MyBackup Pro to automatically back up almost everything on your phone to online servers. Last night, I put my 3 week-old, fully-charged Galaxy Nexus on the nightstand (but left it unplugged), went to sleep, and when I awoke seven hours later it was completely unresponsive. It won't turn on, charge, display a charging icon or LED light, or even reset. I have insurance for the phone, but this raises two issues: First, nobody's phone should just stop working overnight for no reason, particularly a premier gadget like the Galaxy Nexus. Second, because it doesn't have an SD card (seriously, why?!), I lose the 200+ pictures I took on recent trips, aaand whatever confidential/personal info I have on that phone will be available to the first enterprising Verizon employee who figures out how to fix it once they give me a new one O.o After this mishap, the annoying "no service" bug, and the lack of facebook contact integration (again, why?!) I would definitely take my Droid X back in a heartbeat. All your photos should be on Google+ (not sure if you have to set this up or what). It was one of the highlights of the phone so I'm not sure how you missed this if you took a lot of photos... Yeah I'm an idiot for not signing up for Google+ before. I just assumed I had no use for it because nobody I know uses it, but I guess there are other advantages besides the social aspect..

Ice Cream Sandwich is amazing and the 720p screen looks beautiful, but I trust Motorola's build quality a bit more (it's got freakin' Kevlar on the back!). And the SD support + 8MP camera also helped my decision. They're both superb phones though, and from what I hear the Nexus is especially friendly for people looking to install custom ROMs. Isn't the battery life horrible though? This is like the biggest problem I have with smart phones in general. They released the Razr Maxx which claims to have the longest battery life of any smart phone...which is interesting.

Perfectly, although if there's lots of flash ads *coughporn* it'll get bogged down until you go full screen. If it's just a stream on TL, 720p is smooth.

They released the Razr Maxx which claims to have the longest battery life of any smart phone...which is interesting. Battery life is just as good if not better than the Nexus. I keep my screen brightness at like 30%, turn 4G off (3G or wifi only), turn off auto-updating for widgets, and get like 10-12 hours battery life with standard use. Standard use usually includes 2-3 hours of music listening, 1-2 hours of web surfing, maybe 1 hour of HQ video streaming, and a couple of phone calls. I also use smart actions as well as an app called Juice Defender to help optimize my power settings. Now with the Maxx available, I think the RAZR is pretty clearly the android-king even without ICS (yet). Personally I won't be exchanging my RAZR for a Maxx (it's like $100 more) because the battery life suits my needs, and I expect that someday I'll be able to upgrade the battery if I really want to (I've actually already seen some DIY upgrade kits for the RAZR).
