there is this new tv show called Lifes Too Short , by ricky gervais (the office)
its basically if ricky was a midget. its really good and funny so u should check it out. its on bbc iplayer so you probably have to find it elsewhere.
that other show i was excited about , H J Benjamin has a van, starring Coach from Home Movies, picked up suddenly massively after approx ep3-4 and became insanely trolly and trippy and good. you definately must try the mid/later eps, it was surreal
i must say i have been playing dragonage origins (no mods afaik) and it is absolutely fucking fantastic!!!
i have to play in lowest settings and it feels and plays exactly like an oldschool (korean) MMO!! which i love!! the music is fantastic to add to atmosphere where i can felt like i might have been playing dark descent at times.
the dialogue is so freakin good, there is always exactly the dialogue option that i want and i always feel like i can say exactly what i wanna say! and then to top it all off, the consequences become very real!!
i have played through the unique starts of a dwarfen female noble (amazzzing!! play this one first!!) and an elfen magi (pretty cool but felt much shorter and such a boring location tricky to navigate on laggy laptop. the sloth demon was fun and i laughed a lot playing this senario). im now starting a dwarfen axe maniac vagabond.
levelling up is cool, there are a lot of spells, not much equipment tho i think?
the bad bits: 1. xp is delivered to the character who deals deathblow, from what i can figure, and i dont like abusable things like this. 2. there are actually not many different characters to choose from for your party afaik 3. character customisation is alright but still i failed to be anywhere near satisfied (very seldom seen it done right). 4. no variety of mage backstory? (like 4 mages use the same one?) 5. the selection/user interface seems really really shit and even worse on a laggy laptop
this game is awesome.
edit: missed a comma in my thread title

XP is delivered equally to all active members of the party. Non active members will never be more than one level behind your main character.
It's a good game, but it took me awhile to get into it. Coming from having recently beaten BG2, the controls felt muddy and awkward at first, but once i got used to them i had a great time.

It's a good game... I liked it better than DA2, actually.
Your #1 is wrong, but that was already covered. For #2, there's not much at first but your numbers grow. It also depends on if you have the DLC characters. You can get up to 9 at once, I think, although you can only ever use 3 at once. For #4, it makes sense with the backstory that they've given the mage characters, except maybe if you pick Dalish Elf who would logically be somewhere out in the woods instead.
My 2 favourite origins were the female city elf and the dwarven noble ones. The male city elf is essentially the same but it's more powerful if you're a woman. After that, the human noble, the dwarf commoner and the mage are all pretty good. Dalish elf felt like the worst one.

I fucking loved DA:O, DA2 was SUCH a letdown
The UI definitely is a pain at first, but you get used to it.

one of the best games of the last ten years
i just love the story and especially the interaction with the group members. just gives you the feeling that really the choices you make do matter.

DA:O definitely a sick game. Your blog title made me think the was some Dragon Age TV Show coming out. Disappointment.
Just curious, what game has your ideal character customization?

XP is delivered to all characters, but more goes to the character that gets the deathblow. I think that also applies to who picks a lock/disables a trap.
You get... let's see, one tank, two DPSers, one melee rogue, one ranged roge, two mages, your dog (a very fun but very weak character; I always used the mod that made him a summonable fifth character) and a DLC character that can do pretty much everything.

Dragon Age Origins is pretty good, but your computer not being able to run it well is a very good excuse to play Baldur's Gate 2 instead

If that's true, i never saw any noticeable effect from it, and I've dumped over 150 hours into DA:O
Also, i agree that if you like DA:O you need to check out BG2. DA:O is the closest a modern game can get to being BG2, but the original is far superior.

Perfect World (mmo) let you manipulate bone structure etc in a useful way ie you could produce good-looking characters using sliders rather than crap ugly ones like you can produce in Skyrim and 99% of games.
Most games try to provide customisation but fail horribly by leaving out vital sliders eg you might be able to move the chin closer to the mouth but you cant make the forehead smaller so whats the fucking point, you're gonna end up with a freak anyway or a very limited style/look that you have to justify like "oh okay i guess ill be a tomboy, or a russian, or im a genius with a huge brain". In DA:O you can make the neck thicker, but thats not useful if you cant manipulate any other fucking part of the body and hence only need a standard neck thickness!! You can't change height or muscle, eyes look like crap, hair looks like crap, just everything is severely limited.
Aion (mmo) just had a bunch of good-looking attractive presets iirc, which puts it above almost every other game. Perfect World got it right like half a decade ago and still no one has caught on.
My chars in DA:O (i dunno the screenshot key)
notice the permanently crying eyebrows? i dont wanna look like im in despair all the time! if you move the brow up then it shapes differently but you instead look like you're permanently in shock because its now too high. only other option is to use the "super weird evil brow", and then colour it so it isnt so noticeably rediculous (iirc this is what i done with my mage in the top pic)
oh this was so funny, i took alistair fag out of my party and unequiped him so i could equip another fighter. suddenly a cutscene happened....
EEP!
still wondering why my dwarf girl has 5' long arms
