So I was just browser the interwebs like any other university student who is in the dead middle of exam time and should be studying, when I realised how much Steel Series and Razer sponsor teams, players, ect. Got me thinking. If I was offered a sponsorship for being the "Starcraft DJ" (self proclaimed title) which would I want to go with the most?
SteelSeries
This would be in my opinion a clear choice of the gaming companies for purely audio reasons. I have used their headsets before, even while DJing, and I love the quality and comfort. If I were to use Steel Series exclusively for my DJing I would definetly grab myself a pair of the Neckband headphones (depending on their noise cancelling capabilities). Now if I were to keep up my gaming with my DJing (heads up on a new video, me laddering while mixing at the same time, should be fun) I would never go with a Steel Series mech keyboard just due to the different configuration, with the small backspace and what not (talking the 7g). I would have to stay with my DAS! Mice on the other hand, I would love to get a Sensei if more colors were available. I mean I can see them bringing out more colors, much like they did with the Fanatic one, but if I could get a white and black to match my Siberia V2, it would make it so sick! Also the whole Steel Series scopes would have to come in a more aviator design if possible, because those are the only sunglasses DJ Wilma can pull off. One more thing, no portability available, would love to see them come out with a LAN bag!
If sponsored = 8/10, great headphones, pretty good gear, not apparel or bogs...
Razer
OH HOW I WOULD BECOME A WALKING BILLBOARD! Just on the look, I would be so happy to keep to black shirts and still support my sponsor, they got that covered. No glasses tho... Oh the Megalodon just looks like they would sound great. They don't have the unique design that the Neckbands have but could still be used for DJing quite well. I also love the look of the Electra, but due to the shape of the earpieces, with would be hard to wear like a neckband. Again I would have to test for noise cancelation, but if it all went well, that would be sick. For the gaming aspect, well I use a Lachesis, and could see myself move over to a Black Widow, have used them before and am quite a fan. Those they still have no Lan bag, since my gear is really not that big, I could easily put my laptop in the messenger bags they offer, and my small mixer should fit in the keyboard bag.
If sponsored = 7.5/10 unknown quality of headphones, really good gear, good apparel, decent bags
Tt eSPORTS
THAT BAG! OMFG THAT BAG! The Battle Dragon bag makes me so happy. Something I could bring everything in (that is until I get my hands on better DJing gear). Also the gamer glove looks so good for when I game, my mouse hand sweats. Now that I'm done with the good. The keyboards don't really jump out at me as being too good. I mean I bet they would work perfectly fine, but I would still take my DAS any day of the week. Mouses, well they look cool and useful, not much I can really say. BUT. OH MY GOD. I'm sorry Tt eSPORTS, I mean you sponsor my favorite player and all, but I would never use your headphones to DJ. They look so bad. I get your trying to be unit, but Nissan made the fucking Cube, and thats basically the example I would use for how they look. They might function well, but you would really have to redesign them to get my to wear a pair while I DJ.
If sponsored = 6/10, its those damn headphones T^T
Now looking at all that, I'll flip the coin and show what it would be like (imo) to be sponsored by a DJ product producing company.
Pioneer
QQ the idea of me still gaming much while being sponsored by them kinda went down the drain. But if I were, I could still wear the headphones. The headphones would be the best there could be, I mean perfect noise cancellation, not too heavy, long lasting comfort, flexibility, everything I would need! They would also solve any traveling with my gear issues, and the have bags suited for the best gear you can get. Oh did I mention they also have the best DJ gear you can get? Well they do. With all thing gear, I would be much more DJ than I would be a gaming DJ. But my performances wouldn't miss a beat (but would probably drop some bass)
If sponsored = 8/10 only issue would be the lack of gaming involvement....
This was just something I was thinking about before I took a nap, tell me what you guys think? Wouldn't it be cool to have a DJ sponsored by one of these companies. All live tournements or invitationals they have, a DJ is present to fill your head with well mixed tracks during down time and everything? Also if you were in a profession that could make it's way into ESPORTS, what would the profession be, and who would you want to sponsor you?
Much Luv ♥
PS, who agrees with me on the Tt eSPORTS headphones? they are pretty bad right?
