These guys will get masters after they play 3-5 games. If you are saying you know people that were A- and and now are platinum, do share. I was C+/C on iccup and reached top diamond in beta after 15-20 games. (Diamond was the highest league)... If you were D+ or higher, it shouldn't have taken more than a few weeks to get masters. i was C, almost C+ in broodwar during iccup season 8. i stopped playing shortly after that, and didn't touch an rts until sc2 beta. i was in diamond when it was the highest league, but im still ALMOST masters, can't quite break though. i did take a break between season 1 and season 4, though. didn't touch sc2. anyways, rambling backstory aside, it's completely possible for D+/C/C+ to be stuck at high diamond. | ||

High diamond and plat are two totally different things and comparing your C to A- are also huge differences... Anyway good luck OP ![]() | ||

Anyway good luck OP ![]() this is true. i was merely trying to elucidate that iccup rank isn't really an indicator of sc2 skill unless its extreme examples such as A- STUCK IN PLAT. | ||

I don't. Now what? Stop arguing about this, it's not like there's an objective discussion... @OP: Good luck with your streaming, with the right effort you'll make the jump easily. | ||

Given there was such a limited number of people that were A- on iccup you could easily figure out if he was lying or not, so it could very well be an objective discussion. It's not like masters were there were thousands. The difference between a B- and A- on iccup is larger than the difference between a high diamond and GM in SC2. | ||

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ZVZ As you probably already know by now, ZvZ is by far my worst matchup. ZvP = low masters ZvT = low masters Zvz = high platinum or something. So the 6-loss streak due to 6x ZvZ in a row was a bit eye-bleeding !I'm trying to get 100% familiar with this build now: 14 gas 14 pool 15 overlord 15 -> zergling speed, queen, 2 pair zerglings Drones off gass till I have money for the expansion 19 -> ling pair 20 -> ling pair 21 -> expansion 21 -> drones back on gas a.s.a.p. baneling nest Gotta make a plan for when to take a 3rd, when to switch to roaches and when to get hydralisks. Often I still get run over by a too early roach attack or sudden muta flocks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COLD HANDS I'm also suffering from another significant problem: I'm currently housed in a temporary location. I have issues with getting cold hands extremely quickly at anything below 22 degrees. I do strength training with specific foodplans of around 4500kcal a day so I'm not eating too little nor am I underweight. Anyway, the room temperature is about 19 to 20° C at all times. My hands are freezing constantly which really makes my accuracy and APM suffer. I'd missclick so often and be so much slower.. Does anyone have any advice regarding this? Wearing 20 sweaters wouldn't even fix the problem due to my hands still being uncovered. | ||

I still get a cold hand on which ever side the heater isn't on but it helps out quite a bit and warms me up in the process =p | ||

Wc3 and starcraft are both strategy games, that's where the similarities end. The games are so far apart that I don't even know where to begin. Also in the beginning of starcraft 2, everyone was new and didn't know many tactics and the metagame had not even settled yet, the overal dififculty was much easier, the opponents were not as skilled. I only blended it last month where everyone already settled in a long time ago. Diamond during release would equal like gold in the current game, really. I really don't get why you people say that someone with starcraft experience started out pretty nicely in starcraft 2, so someone with warcraft experience should too?? It's just plain awkward and twisted. | ||

For what it matters, the above also applies to ICCUP rank and how that skillset translates into SC2. It's generally accepted knowledge that BW had a more relevant skillset than WC3 in terms of adapting to SC2. Good luck to kaluro in your SC2 ventures! ![]() | ||
