EPTPROVIDENCE, R.I. -- MC, Old Generations, stomped out of his player booth, raising both fists, beating his chest and yelling "my house" after sweeping IdrA, Evil Geniuses, in round four of the MLG Providence winners bracket.
Idra chose a speed zergling expand against MC in game one, and picked off an early stalker during a weak phase of MC's three gateway expand. IdrA then invested in a quick lair followed by an infestation pit and a drove of zerglings, but MC scouted the infestors on their way to his base, and responded by picking up four sentries in a warp prism to initiate a counter attack.
IdrA rattled the front of MC's base with a host of infested terran, and his mob of zerglings killed pivotal structures before running into MC's main base as IdrA took a third expansion. Meanwhile MC dropped the sentries into IdrA's main base, force-fielded the ramp and warped in a round of zealots. MC killed a queen and cleared out his own main base before beginning the march to IdrA's natural expansion which forced a quick end to game one with MC as the victor.
Idra chose Dual Sight for the game two map, and opened in the same fashion as game one while MC committed to a nexus first followed by a quick forge, gateway and cannon to create a wall to the main ramp. After scouting the strategy, IdrA morphed in a baneling nest and sped across the map with his zerglings to perform a quick bust.
IdrAs banelings destroyed the cannon in the natural walling off part of the base, but MC quickly reacted with a pylon to block the ramp, stopping the harassment after losing 10 probes. MC bought a stargate and chronoboosted a pair of voidrays along with phoenixes which killed a queen at IdrA's third base, and MC followed the air aggression with a warp prism full of sentries to force-field IdrA's ramp from inside the main base as he did in game one.
MC killed all the drones, and began to kill the tech buildings while IdrA counter attacked MC's natural with a herd of roaches. Upon seeing the adequate defenses, however, IdrA quit the game, and MC advanced to round 5 of the winners bracket.
