In the current season we have players like CreatorPrime.WE and oGsTheSTC being matched up against the Code S dropouts in the Ro48. It would not surprise me if some of the 4th-place-in-group players get knocked out completely.

A couple people have pointed out that there's a bit of randomness in terms of skill level in the players people will face in the Code A Ro48. They say things like "Well if "GSLnoob" meets Losira in his first Code A match is that really fair to GSLnoob?" I'd say it is. This is the GSL, people! Who did they think they were going to play? In my experience most of the new players that get into the GSL want to face someone difficult anyway. They're looking forward to testing themselves. The ones that want easy opponents don't usually last.

The reactions against it is simply kneejerking, the old format was awful and just made to keep players in Code S consistently. Which shouldn't be the point.
