You're seriously quitting because some random people on the internet insulted you? Do you know how much every single even slightly famous person on the internet gets flamed? You just got to ignore it. People do not think at all when they write comments on youtube or some other place with a comments section.

By quitting now, people will probably say even more negative things about you. What would you think if Idra quit playing sc2, because some random guy said he sucked? Or if Tasteless went "Oh some guy on TL made a thread about me losing my passion. I'm quitting." If you really can't handle it, it's good you quit, since you weren't up for the job. Good luck in what ever you decide to do.

I don't really know what this is about but I hope you'll change your mind. Sometimes I feel like a large portion of these communities spend the majority of their time just looking for something they can start bandwagoning and get upset about, and it always saddens me to see some of the most dedicated supporters of e-sport become subjects to that.

Whats the point in quitting because of REDDIT's opinions most of these would be trolls or retarded kids with hormonal problems knowing nothing and letting out their stress on your opinion which they don't realize and then it results in you not being able to take one off spiteful comments?

Stop taking into account what (you think) people think.

If you like translating, do it. The fact that you kept the job on multiple occasions means you were at least good enough at it. If you sucked, you would've gotten fired.

Also, say whatever you want, the translating thing has been good for your growth as a person.

Well, I agreed with you all the way up til the very end, which I thought was a bit over dramatic.

But yeah-- I agree with your general assessment of the community and how it treats people. If it makes you feel bad (and if you're human it does) when people treat you so poorly, escape it! You need to stop or at least take a break. If you stop loving it, don't do it.

That said, thanks so much for all your contributions so far. I thought you were great, even though I didn't agree with everything you said all the time.

Not that it means much but every time I see you translating something live or written I greatly appreciate your efforts. I enjoy being able to read MC's tweets or hearing you translate boxer's interview at a live event. Also, I've noticed that the SC2 community has a really inflated sense of entitlement. A large portion of the community expect players to act the way they want them to, they expect the Korean content to be translated within minutes of it being posted, they expect the game to be fully balanced within a year, they expect players to play macro games because cheese is so inferior, they expect everything on a stream to be perfect. What they fail to understand is that a lot of the things they expect take the hard work of people that are getting very little in return, and for their effort they are not grateful at all. It may just be a product of a younger generation of gamers coming to Starcraft 2 or just the fact that the community is connected more than ever before, I'm not sure. What I do know is that almost anything posted in the Starcraft 2 part of these forums is going to be criticized negatively by someone regardless of what it is. However, just know that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate your work and realize that without you the community would not be as full of an experience as it is today.
