Hello, Protoss players. Look at your ladder rank. Now back to mine. Now back to your ladder rank. Now back to mine. Sadly, it isn't mine, but if you stopped cannon rushing and learned to properly play the game, it could look like mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? You're in the grandmaster league playing against Protoss GODS like Kiwikaki and Incontrol. What's that your probe has? It's minerals, because you are actually mining and not worker rushing. Look again, the minerals are now pylons! Anything is possible when you don't cheese and learn to play the macro game. ...I have a mothership.
(Yeah yeah I know I'm actually bronze league but just pretend, okay~? ^.^;; We can all dream.)
Still forty hours to redownload SCII. This is horrible. If I ever find out who made that virus that got into my computer I will tear them a brand new - well, nevermind. Point is, in case you haven't read my previous blogs (i.e. "RAGE!!!"), I still don't have SCII because a virus got into my computer and took over everything so badly that I had to reset it to a previous state. SOMEHOW that messed up my SCII files when I tried to re-patch the thing and even uninstalling and reinstalling it didn't work so I have to redownload the entire thing. And because Battle.net is HORRIBLE and has the capabilities of a ROCK, it's going to take roughly FORTY HOURS. WITH OR WITHOUT PEER TO PEER; DOESN'T MATTER. Not to mention it murders my laptop internet for some reason - not the desktop internet just the laptop because this laptop is a piece of JUNK that is LITERALLY FALLING APART AS IN THE FRAME IS HELD TOGETHER WITH ELECTRICAL TAPE AND A GIANT CLAMP - so I can only make it download SOMETIMES. Ugh. I'll never be a pro at this rate...why did I think I could. x.x -goes away to sulk under the bed-
Currently listening to: Europe - "The Final Countdown"
EDIT: Thank you very much to everyone who wished me well after my last blog. It means a lot to me, and I'm sure it also means a lot to Dennis, wherever he may be. It was very tragic to lose him, but I can't let it destroy me - we have a lot of other cats at the shelter, and at home, who need love and care as well. But again - thank you.
EDITED EDIT: Incontrol is my teacher; he's a god to ME. -sad face-

Incontrol is an average pro who's very rarely a favorite.

I think Omni more likes incontrol because he gets lessons from him, so he knows him on a more personal level, as opposed to just the results he's putting out.

IMO incontrol should offload his bronze-silver students to lesser protosses like me for a fraction of his rates. High masters should be more than enough... I can tell someone 9 pylon 11 pylon 13 pylon 16 gate 17 double gas isn't a proper BO!

Incontrol can teach whoever he wants. By the way it's thanks to him that I can even win against Terran now. Next lesson I want to work on dealing with cheese, especially dealing with cannon rushes. Then hopefully I can get back up the the gold league where I was initially placed. But of course this is after I get SCII reinstalled. Incontrol has been playing this game since the alpha of Starcraft I; that's 13 years. With that kind of experience, I trust his judgment.

Basically, this is just an opinion (although I'm pretty much right ) --- your teacher is over-qualified.
You don't get Jackie Chan to show a beginner how to do stunts! And double-PhD physicists don't teach high school science.

Lets not bash on someone's opinion too much, whether or not the facts state otherwise...

Yeah... I hate to burst your pretty little bubble but double-PhD's do teach High School science. DeLta's chemistry teacher was one such double-PhD. Then you have people like Johnny Weir teach little kids how to skate. Just because a person is exceptional in a field, does not mean that they can't teach at a lower level to others. Assuming that is just arrogant, and foolish.
These people like Incontrol can teach whoever they damn well feel like. There is no such thing as over-qualification. It's under-qualification that does exist.

I never said Incontrol shouldn't teach him anyway, I wouldn't impose any restrictions on incontrol, far from that. I don't know where you guys are getting that.
I'm merely saying that I would urge players in the low leagues to first try to get lessons from less "expensive" coaches - hell, even free ones. I didn't mean to make a case either, it was just a random comment I threw out there. Just like someone on the tech forums would tell a person "no don't buy 2 GTX590's to run World of Warcraft".
Any free master-league "coach" can point out the big mistakes in low level play, it doesn't cost $80 for an hour. Where incontrol's $80 service shines (perhaps) is when small details and intricacies are pointed out - and bronze players can't do anything with that.
Fine, a double-PhD physics teacher can teach how to add, subtract, multiply and divide but the kids won't be able to appreciate the full extent of his knowledge - not even close, obviously.
