So, over the summer like any good nerd with a copy of SC2, I play and ladder hard. I managed to get promoted, Gold to Plat, YEAH! Woot! I actually don't remember when but it was around the end of the summer if that's important. Even better, I manage to do this even with a job that's kind of somewhere between part time and full time, anywhere between 25-30 hours a week. So, you know, that's cool.
Anyway, I get promoted to plat, FUCK YEAH I feel so proud of myself for being not as bad as I was before. And you know, summer's about to end so I'm trying to make the best of it. I get to rank 4 in my division with nearly all my games won, less than 20 wins to my name. How is this a good thing? Guys lower in rank than me have things like 30, or 40 wins, so either they spent all their bonus pool or they lost a lot more than me to get the same number of points. Either way I'm above them so ha! Take that! Yeah!
Then, college starts, and I'm a freshman who commutes: the lowest of the low. Socially, anyway. Parking is a bitch, I meet with maybe a handful of new friends and a whole bunch of old ones from high school on a regular basis. Yadda yadda yadda, who needs to know this when you have sc2?
But anyway, school starts, and I really have no idea how to manage my new timetable. Oh, I have like 2 hours between classes, but if I go home I'll only have like maybe 45 minutes before I need to go again. Then I need to study for tests and do homework. Blah blah blah.
Anyway this week is the first week I've touched sc2 in about 3 weeks. Jump into a custom game to stretch myself, lost. Well ok, zvp, my worst MU, and I've probably gotten rusty, no biggie. Jump on ladder, zvt, oh this is gonna be easy. Nope, lost to a meching terran. What?
Over the week I just lose and lose and maybe eek out a win every now and then. But the point is, I've lost my touch. I feel slow and sluggish, I watch my replays and for some reason at times I have 0 apm, my money is floating, and I somehow let a guy cannon rush me. What the shit? What am I doing?
So, what do you guys do to 'get that feeling' back? I need my touch back, badly.

Just practice...it's a matter of just getting used to everything that you had before. It shouldn't take as long, but try to focus on one thing per game. Once you've accomplished that small focus tackle another one till you're back in form :p.

Your apm is at 0 because blizzard changed apm and now its way lower, don't panic because of that

Strangely, when I take a month break and come back, I tend to be a bit better xD
At least I "feel" better. Mentally I'm a bit less strained, more relaxed and what not. If you're an extrovert maybe you just need to keep rolling with it to keep up. I'm a hardcore introvert, so I "recharge" by taking a break from things.
If you really want, just go to a channel and ask for games. Someone will sit down and play with you. Just BO3 or 5 him and have fun to loosen up a bit, shake the rust off. GL HF man.

Just play. Answer to EVERY* sc2 related problem.
* May not be answer to every sc2 related problem, experience may wary.

you might have to play a good number of games in a row and with friends to build up your confidence with speed & whatnot.
if your'e used to hitting a key combination, 2,4,6,2,4,6,2,4,6 over a minute or less, that will amount to 0 apm because it's now part of the way the game/replay calculates.
the only real advice i have, is to not get used to how you're playing---unless it's working or you're not feeling very much pressure from your opponents. your eyes need to concentrate on the key points, and so you must condition yourself to be aware at all times of the top right stats, the bottom left minimap, and what your mouse wants to hover over.
i'm not saying you have to start all over, but consider it something like an eye-opener, and a chance to try new things, new styles, and a new way to play the game.

Man, really? That just sucks. One of the things I conditioned myself to have was high apm, now I'll never know what I'm actually at.
And thanks for the replies, all. I was starting to get discouraged after having every ladder session end with me having more losses than wins (and loss of rank T_T). Guess I'll have to find some practice partners, woot!
