I'm HonorZ, also known as Alex, creator of the Gamer's Guild !
That's me !
The Gamer's Guild is a french association dedicated to the growth of eSport. I've created that association last year because I somehow wanted to contribute to what I love to do.
A little bit about Gamer's Guild
Gamer's Guild Logo
So Gamer's Guild is an association based in Lille (North of France). We have 8 fellow members ; and I'm proud to be it's president. We do some Starcraft II stuff (tourney, event, you guys might have seen us in the HasuObs vs Dimaga/Nerchio showmatch) and we always wanted to pick other ambassador games like LoL, but you know how it goes :p.
We want to do more of this stuff in the future and we're planning on some other cool events. I'll keep you informed from this blog if anything special happens !
A little bit about me
So, HonorZ, or Alex, nice to meet you ! I'm a French boy, born in North of France and currently living in Lille ! I'm 22, and I'm a computing engineer in a very small company which I like really much :D. For those who are wondering what kind of computing I do, I mainly do some design stuff of IT Systems (architecture and urbanism anyone ??) but I also do some lovely Java Programming. You could say I'm a Spring boy ! (and no, I didn't say pro-gaming :p).
Concerning the Starcraft world, I play Zerg. I play this race cause I was always a big fan of the aliens kind of insects ; I just love the way they are. They're not really bad guys in the end... they're just animals ! Fighting for survival ! Like a bunch of lions. Anyway, the're should never be good or bad thing, but cloud of grey in my opinion. Well back to the point. So why this ID? Well I inspired myself of Brood War where a lot of players have actually kinda short and meaning ful name and since I like the Honor really much in general I picked one. The Z came later when I wanted to subscribe on TL... Because Honor of course was already taken. And I know it's some Protoss rising star . Well, what can I do !
Concerning my current level, I'm high plat. So, a SuperStar already, as you can guess... I was diamond once, but that was far far away before I started to work :p.
So my SC life began when I was really young. I was playing on one of the first IMac the demo of SC BW and I had a so positive feeling about the game. I remember how good it was and how everyone around me talked about it. I loved the SCI FI theme of the game and the design and everything... So I felt in love. Some years later I decided I needed to learn more about the game. I discovered quickly HD casting Brood War vids which I enjoyed a lot (I remember the first series I watched was Proleague, SKT vs OZ final !) !!! Eventually Starcraft II launched it's beta phase and I followed HD video of the beta (to check SCII would follow BW quality) and then I heard of Husky, and teamliquid. And there I was, a lurker during so long here ! I enjoyed my tour so much .
And here I am... I'm mostly focused on SCII, but I do love BW and I recognize it as a far more accomplished game atm than SCII. We'll see how it goes I guess .
Who I cheer for !
Also known as the top of greatest Starcraft Heroes !! :p
Lee Jaedong
The first pro Zerg I watched. This kid made me feel something. Actually, as a player, I love and respect him SO much. Past his incredible achievements, I had the luck of discovering him right before his rivalry with Flash year. That was so cool. Seeing him finishing first of second of so many MSL & OSL ... I was deeply impressed. But besides that, he has something more than the average player. He plays with a certain rage ... Death Stare anyone ? That could give me chills at some points. He puts so much will, energy, efforts into the game, that is absolutely stunning to see. That combined by the fact that he plays really better than a lot of people (or at least he used to) makes him well earned his Tyrant knickname. So, thank you Lee Jaedong, you were a very sweet and special introduction to eSports!
Boxer
Yeah, I know, how can you not be a fan ? I like Jaedong plays. But I like Boxer achievements, for eSport. So many things are killing eSports at the moment, I feel like the Emperor is making them bigger. Boxer is so talented, but not as a pro, as a person. He did so well all his life, with Major personnal accomplishments. Not only the fact that he is one of the few (and the first) Bonjwa, also the fact that he did so much for the eSport... Without him, basically, I'm not sure everything would be as big. Besides, creating legendary teams... A talent spotter, a player, a coach, a team owner, a husband, that guys does everything. But better than most.
MMA
I have the impression that this guy incarnates my strongest personal values. It would be a lot to talk about because I thought so much about him, but all I can say is that he is the hero of a cinderella story. He is what should happen but never happens in real life. Or sometimes it does, it's unique and it's called nearly a miracle. So I hate you Polt, you dream killer !
If you don't drop sweet today, you'll drop tears tomorow.

So awesome.
Agent TWOS
Agent TWOS, also known as Furaha in these halls, is, like me, a big fan of Jaedong. Nothing wrong with that ! Agent is really connected to eSport world and he really helped me to learn and understand a lot of things about Progaming and how to handle Gamer's Guild. Thank you for that, TWOS !!! (lots of private joke inside)
HasuObs
HasuObs is the first pro I met. I met him at Lille au jeu video. I had the occasion to interview him, and to go grab something to eat + a couple of bears. Then, take him back to his hm rather in the middle of crappy places area . That was really fun. It's always fun when you meet someone you know from reputation in real life. Well, I can say Dennis is a really mannered and intelligent guy, and he has much to be loved from apart his gaming career. I'm glad to know him, even if he crushed me so hard that time we did a 1v1.
Coca
I love Coke. Really, I do. I drink it all the time. It always cheers me up, it always wakes me up, I can't live without it. And then, I heard a Zerg named Coca. Whaaaaaaaaat ? That was like a providential coincidence to me. I know, providential coincidence kinda sound paradoxal but you it's a good way to explain somethink that you can't believe is true and that must be the purpose of greater minds but then you realize it would be so random it's actually stupid. Back to the point, I didn't know of him before last MLG (I knew of Line more than Coca) . And then I saw him with mass contaminate build, or mass infestor two base timing push. I really loved that out of the box style, a little bit like july but less wild. Since Coca joined my favorite team, I can only love him more, and I'm looking forward to see him do better.
A little bit about this blog
To be honest, fellow TL members, I feel like I wrant to write these days. So it will be a way to express myself. What it could bring you ? Well I'm gonna talk mostly about SCII, my association, my job and finally my life. Basically, you can grab some piece here and there that will I hope give you the occasion to smile or to think "Oh, that's I wanted to read". This is also a small given back to the community. Thanks for everything everyone, and see you later !
ps: I don't own any of those images, pics or persons.
