Hey,
So I dont often blog, simply because... Well I just don't know what to write. With that being said, this may or may not be easy to read. I have not much experience with this stuff. Though I think I'll keep this rather short. So, this blog will focus on the current life situation and less on how I got here.
Here we go, first of all, I live with a friend of mine who happens to be in med school, I don't have a job and I've signed myself up for night classes at the local college. During the days, I generally play bw, organize stuff for my bw events and play dota. I really don't have much else to do to be completely honest and none of this bothers me. However, this is not the focus of this blog. First of all, you must note before this, HUGELY unsupportive family when it comes to video games. They actually dislike that I play at all. So, its pretty hard to deal with having people try to tell me what to do all the time, though that's expected from family, I have gainned over the years about 10 other mommies, people who think they can run my life better than I can and the fact that they don't realize is, they're actually the root cause for my current so called "demotivation" since they basically make it so my interest in the real world goes down and therefore I expand interest into the BW community. I mean, is it just that people are too stupid to realize that they can't help another in such a way? I've met people while I worked the summer out west, after a week of knowing them, they knew how to run my life better than I did(or so they thought).
So in conclusion, its quite depressing, how the fuck do you get people to stop this?

although TL is a great community and its pretty much the perfect place for almost any kind of support, i think you r the only one who should try to to look for the answer for your problems, and then once you do you could ask for advice on how to achieve them. + Show Spoiler +yes i know im not the best advice giver on the world but thats just how i feel about it ps: how old are you?

I suggest spending less time on bw and videogames in general. Videogames aren't the problem... but too much generally is. If you take some time each day, maybe even just half an hour or an hour or whatever, to do something else, you'll become a more rounded person and people will respect you for that. You can still play a ton of videogames, I'm just saying you should think about other areas of your life that you'd like to see improvement in, and improve in them by taking the time to do so.
If they still badger you about videogames after this change even though you're broadening your horizons, fuck them.

Lol. You sound like my cousin. He is a 21 male college student, who plays World of Warcraft every breathing second of his life. He does not regret it what so ever, and is still completing a college degree. Honestly, I think the best thing to do is just ignore the people who are telling you to do other shit. If you do not want to do anything else besides play video games, than hey man.....go for it. Its your life and nothing is wrong with that. The only thing I would be worried about if I were you is eventually supporting your self if you do continue this lifestyle for a long time.
P.S. How old are you?

generally there's two reasons why people other than your family start to offer advice on running your life:
1. it's not self supportive, you can't prop yourself up on it, and all the signs are there -if you're scraping by on $20/wk to get your gaming fix, people will step in. 2. through your words or actions, you are giving the impression that you are unhappy and people are stepping in -when i talk to my friends i often paint my life in misery-colored tones because it contrasts with socially accepted norms, which is why they offer me advice; though to be honest, my life is really not that bad, i don't really need advice, and i'm quite happy and content with my life. but the way i talk gives people the impression that they need to intervene.
they're actually the root cause for my current so called "demotivation" since they basically make it so my interest in the real world goes down don't blame people for your demotivation. if you're committed to what you do then it really doesn't matter and you need to portray that attitude. otherwise people will give you advice.

Don't care about anyone, do what makes you happy man At some point, like when you're 30, video games will have to take a backseat in your life, because everything else will start to get in the way. But that's life and everyone has to deal with it.

Straight answer: get a job or go full time school all day.
Playing games is cool and stuff (I do it too), but it should be a hobby, not something that takes up most of your day. Get a job or go to school full time and play BW when you have free time. They may not like games and they may try to rule your life, but if your supporting yourself and actually getting something done, then they should have no reason to tell you what to do. If they continue to badger you, just say.... 'fuck em.'

K guys, you've all completely misunderstood. I'm not a compulsive gamer, I don't game all the time, its an exaggeration based on that I lose interest with all the other shit. I can moderate, its not an addiction. This blog is about my irl not my gaming life. >_> yes, they're related video games = why they think they know better to the point they can tell me what to do, however video games haven't taken over my life.

So give us a typical day in your life if we're misunderstanding. From these words I gathered that you play an average of 6+ hours a day. Be as honest as possible. We're trying to help you, after all.
