A few days ago, I went over to a friend's place to cook dinner. I had purchased some fish stock that morning, but I didn't actually use the whole thing, so I decided to take it back home. Unfortunately, the carton was not sealed properly...
10 minutes into the car ride home, my car started to smell awkward. At first, I had absolutely no idea what it was -- I had realized something had spilled, but it never clicked in my mind that one of the foulest ingredients in my cooking arsenal had been the culprit.
When I finally arrived at home, I found that the container had emptied itself... Now, this container probably contained about 5 cups of fish stock. All of those 5 cups spilled all over my leather seat, my boyfriend's jacket, and my carpet. There was pretty much a large puddle underneath my passenger seat.
I already treated the carpet with dish soap, an orange-based degreaser (goo gone), febreeze (horrible decision, actually) and a car carpet cleaner. However, the smell still persists on day 3. The carpets don't really have the fish odor, but my car still has that obnoxious smell to it.
So TL, I turn to you for help. What can I do to get rid of this fish smell?
My car is currently venting with cracked windows in a cool garage, so I'm hoping that helps.

I've heard leaving ground coffee overnight removes odors.
Edit: In a container of sorts, of course.

I know for smelly fridges, we just put some baking soda to absorb the smell. Don't really know how effective it is though.

I'm a girl.
I was thinking about baking soda, but a lot of websites say to just pour it on the carpet.

Major circumstances call for major measures; have your car be professionally treated if you want to fully get rid of the foul stench. Other than that,

This exact same thing happened to me once, and i treated the carpet and the leather with motor oil. then use shop towels to soak it up, gets rid of the smell better than any of the other methods i tried.

Get four friends, and get everyone in the car. Close windows and turn air condition off. Now get everyone to light the biggest fattest cigar you guys can find. Nobody leaves until those bad boys are smoked up.
You won't smell no fish no more.

Don't forget the whiskey.
Seriously, you can also leave charcoal in a bowl in the car.

I have no advice to give but this blog just reminded me of that one Seinfeld episode with the smelly car. So yeah.

You might as well tell her to take a shit in her car. As people have mentioned, just take it to be professionally treated for $15-25. Cheaper than baking soda and the time you spend on it.

Yep Professionally treated

Oh wow, it's really that cheap? I expected it to be much more expensive so I didn't really look into it.

If you don't take a professional route, the 'home item's that might get rid of funky smells are like, baking soda, a FUCKTON of it seeing as how much you spelled and where. And Dryer fabric softener sheets. Even more of those.

in b4 the stop having sex in your car post.
I'm sure you can get some spray stuff that is made for removing bloodstains and other protein stains. Maybe also a pet urine/fecal removal spray. Try that stuff.
Otherwise try baking soda and peroxide that shit s magical

That one Seinfeld episode with the terrible smell in the car comes to mind. Watch that for further instructions.

You're gonna need some insane type of carpet cleaner... I spilled some coffee with milk in my car over the summer and that shit smelled for like 2-3 weeks even though I went to go scrub it out it like 30 min after it happened

Okay, update.
Called up a local detailer/car wash place near my work. The guy was pretty honest and said that he can't guarantee that they can completely remove the odor due to the degree of the mess. He did suggest that if the fish stock seeped past the carpet, it would be best to just take it to an upholstery place to get the carpet ripped out.
I ended up taking my car in anyways, paid $52 for a full carpet shampoo + express detailing (they did a decent job, but I probably could have done maybe a bit better... then again, it would've taken me probably like 2 hrs. they took 15mins).
Car still smells a little fishy, but a lot better. The carpets are pretty thoroughly clean, however, the leather seat are still in question. Unfortunately, I don't think I can do that much for that other than continue to let my car air out.
I also bought a box of baking soda to stick in my car. The saga continues.

I'm sure if you air it for a year it'll eventualy go away. Man fish stock T_T that's tough.
baking soda~

Baking soda on the carpet. Use poppers to clean the leather. Seriously, there's nothing as efficient as poppers to clean leather.
