My career in starcraft2 started last year, when i received starcraft for christmass. I was happy to get it, since i did play broodwar very minorly when i was younger, and was looking forward to trying out the campaign, and maybe poking my head into the multiplayer scene. Yet the game collected dust on my shelf as time went on. It wasnt until march of 2011 that i decided to install the game and try my hand at the multiplayer (of course playing terran). i tried my own 3rax build, failed miserably, losing many games, and sticking myself into bronze league. I didnt really know how to play the game, so i dropped it for many months, deciding to play other games, seemingly leaving starcraft by the wayside.
It wasnt until i stumbled upon Husky starcraft, TotalBiscut, and Day9 that i picked starcraft back up, surging back into multiplayer, picking terran up from where i left it. I climbed through my league extremely quickly over the summer, ammasing 163 wins quickly. While this happened i made sure to watch the pro leaguer streams, mainly watching terrans like Trump, SlayerSDragon, IGN stream, and Idra. I of course also watched the MLG tournaments, loving to see the new terran styles that were being implemented, so i could best emulate them in my ladder games I finally was promoted into silver league, but as I played more, i realized that terran didnt really play how i wanted it, i yearned for a more macro heavy style, where i could expand, and amass a 200/200 army in a blink of an eye to crush my enemies again and again.
This brings me to present time, I have decided to switch to zerg, and im loving the style, yet my points have plummeted from 600 (rank 3) to 368 (29). Im finding zerg such a difficult race to play, and it seems like i never have a big enough army, and i can only win against the people who are below par.
I decided to start this blog to document my journey from being a new zerg player in silver league to hopefully a high level gold league zerg by the holiday season. I'll try to put a new post up every a day or so, maybe talking about my learning experience and maybe posting some replays if im that proud of them. I really hope that everyone who finds this enjoys it, and continue to look out for new posts.
