He is MVP. Many of us anticipated the GSL Code S finals to be one sided. Many expected the code S finals to be boring keeping in line with the tradition of the event. Many wish that it wasn't a TvT finals, due to the fact we have watched many of those recently. But ALL who watched saw MVP emerge as a true champion. Nestea no longer has the solo moniker of Worlds best player. That honor he will now have to share with MVP. Just as Nestea and oGsMC sit at top their respective races, MVP has claimed the Terran throne, and his rule looks to be lengthy. He's the guy every Terran wants to play like.

MVP makes the impossible look easy. Ominous Siege Tank lines that would normally crush an opponent, no issue whatsoever for MVP. Give him a few Marauders and a handful of medivacs and all of a sudden Top goes from looking like he is in a comfortable (as much as possible vs MVP) position to GG. Not to mention the fact that MVP was taking the entire map. Planting bases and setting up shop faster than Starbucks. The man does so much with so little it is scary. I have to feel like their is more to see from him. He seems to have this attitude when he plays that says I'm going to hit you as hard as I need to, not as hard as I can. Which is scary.

Congrats to IMMvp, you certainly are.

*Edit I apologize for not using the proper [spoiler] tag, and unfortunately I can't edit title of course.

I think the secret to his breaking tank lines was bringing the right amount of SCVs. Which is a pretty incredible skill if you think about it.

IMo TOP went too light with hellions. MVP was able to break siege lines because the hellions were able to absorb damage while TOP usually attacked with only siege/viking.

An one sided final but tbh, one of the best final in term of games quality

If anything, the viability of Thor builds is further proved by this series.

And people said that was a bad unit.
You can only win the game when you understand that it is a game.

Top had excellent gameplay for the most part (except for that timing in G2(?), needed to be a faster push). MVP just outclassed him and demonstrated an understanding of the game rivaled only by NesTea. Superb player to watch, and Top put up a great fight IMO. Well deserving of that 2nd place spot.

Oh and OP, I don't think you can say that MC iS reigning as Toss leader right now, nothing notable recently and knocked Into the up-downs (idk if he came out or not T.T i didnt watch them).

Toss really has no reigning leader right now. Hopefully Puzzle or Sage breaks thru soon, or that MC has some sort of comeback. Or everyone's Secret wish: that HuK wins a GSL and iS the best toss player GOGO HuK!!!

Bear in mind that before several of these fights, MVP would catch TOP's hellions somewhere out on the field and force a hellion trade.

Are you kidding me? I love the expectations of the sc2 community. Lets take a look at oGsMC's record:

    * 2nd place at IEM Season VI -Global Challenge 8/21/2011 (he was defeated by Puma and nobody can argue the.... "strength" of the 111 right now.
    * 2nd place NASL Season 1
    * 3rd place HomeStory Cup 3
    * 1st place StarsWar Killer 6
    * 3rd place MLG Columbus
    * 1st place Copenhagen Games
    * 1st place Dreamhack Stockholm inv.
    * 3rd place 2011 LG Cinema 3D World Championship Seoul
    * 1st place 2011 Global Starcraft II League March

Not to mention before the most recent finals oGsMC has won more money than any other player including Nestea. I'm fairly certain this win puts MVP ahead of both.

3 third places, 2 second places, and 4 first place finishes, and you don't think he is the leader of the Protoss? Oh yeah did I mention 2 GSL Titles..

Why do you feel he isn't worth of the Boss Toss title? Cause he was knocked down to code A? So was MVP previously. Players all have good days and bad days but nobody can win every game.

Not to mention Strong Toss buffs (assuming they go through) indicate that MC isn't exactly on equal footing race wise. Terran are notably the most complete race with options galore. Protoss will have to wait to HOTS.

So all things considered yeah he's the best Protoss and by far.

He was Terran king back in January but was overshadowed by MMA, Bomber, and Polt for a few months. So I'd say he's reclaimed the terran throne.

And if MC isn't the best Protoss, who is? Yeah MC plays risky but it works for him in almost every BoX situation. He has a 66% win percentage in Korea (along with an even better rate internationally) when most Protosses struggle to win half their games. It isn't even close.

MC is 40% in his last 24 Korean games. MC was the best protoss, but he certainly isn't at the moment; he has dropped to code A amidst a slump. Puzzle should be the best at the moment.

So now you are using a 24 game metric to determine who is the best, and just discrediting all of his 2011 accomplishments (3 third places, 2 second places, and 4 first place finishes, and you don't think he is the leader of the Protoss? Oh yeah did I mention 2 GSL Titles.).

To use another golf analogy this is like saying Tiger Woods circa 2000 didn't win his last 7 starts but Mickelson won 2 during that time so he is the worlds best golfer. Absurd. oGsMC has earned the Protoss Throne.

He was the best, he isn't the best now. Anyway, MC wasn't as dominant as tiger woods, and nobody is going to say that tiger woods is the best now. MC may have won the protoss throne before, but he has lost it.

Nobody has the Protoss throne right now. It's empty. Puzzle is definitely a possibility, but only insofar as he's one of the few really promising Protoss players in Code S.

The same thing happened with MVP. He dropped down to Code A, and people said he was no longer the Terran King. He had to fight his way back up to the position.

Neither of them have lost the position, it's just that metagame shifts and bad luck w/brackets knock them out earlier than they should. They are as good as they ever were, even when they lost/were slumping, it's just that the game is too new for anyone, regardless of skill, to have such a flawless record.

@Pangpootata and @babylon. Not going to argue the point because based on results MC is by far the best Protoss, to argue it only shows ignorance. Every Protoss is struggling right now so all things being equal no matter what metric you use MC is the best.

This thread is a congratulatory one for MVP keep that in mind too. If you want to start a discussion on who is the best Protoss, please feel free to start a separate thread about it.
