Goodbye, old quote.
You've been with me and my TL.net account for 5 years. It's time to go our separate ways.
"Sleep is for the weak, and I am weak"
This was inspired by a T-shirt sold by a local Princeton coffee shop, which read "Sleep is for the weak" - a macho-nerd T-shirt of sorts. I was somewhat rebellious towards the on-campus norms at the time (including being sober for the entire 4 years there), and decided to poke fun of it on my Facebook profile (I love sleeping). This quote was on my Facebook profile from 2004, and appeared on my TL.net profile when I joined this site in 2006.
Travian Coordinates
Travian was perhaps the first major role I played with the TL community, as fellow TL'ers and I grinded out a year long battle to the top of the server. (Yes, we won.) Neo and I, along with several others, stuck it out to the end even though we know we really had nothing to gain from the victory. It was for pride. TL pride. My relationship with Neo is one of the closest I have with any TL member, despite not talking with him frequently at all. My closest friendships have been made from persevering through mutual suffering (deathly physical problem sets...), and Travian was certainly no exception. I still have lasting respect for Anihc, Locked, oneofthem, legionairre, b_unnies, among others.
New Quote - Personal Site
I've replaced the quote with a link to my personal page. I've been thinking about online and RL identity a lot lately, and I've decided to fuse them all together (even though I have a reputation for being a bitter elitist online and a happy fellow IRL - hi Chill & Kennigit!).
It's an "up the ante" to myself.

As for the site, it's currently just a blog + crossposts of my Quora posts. (not sure what it'll end up being in the long run)

The relationships were gold, and were a function of the quality of TL users.
The twitter account is my personal RL twitter and my online persona twitter. It's all going to be that one account.

That game. LOL me and my friend played it in yr 5, and after a week or two the rest of the grade caught on. In our little made by yr 5's for yr 5's newsletter it had a shoutout for travian LOL.
Eventually I just stopped playing it after realising how pointless it was LOL.
