Tomorrow, September 1st, yet another schoolyear is about to begin. This year I'll be attending 11th grade, which means only 2 more years to go(f yeah!). I hate 1st days of schoolyears, as there's always a lot of people and a boring talk by the headteacher. I, being socially super awkward, don't really feel comfortable around many people.

Although I'm looking forward to the end of high school, I still don't want it to end, because every time I start thinking about it, I start feeling depressed about my future and university stuff. T_T

I still haven't decided what I'd want to study at a university. One part of me really wants to learn about asian cultures and languages, but the other side wants to study something more technical as in chemistry, genetic engineering, biomedicine, civil engineering etc. To be realistic it seems I won't be able to learn something such as "asian studies", as I don't have rich parents who would pay everything up and I really don't know what I could do with a degree in asian studies(work at UN, translate? :D). Something which everyone's talking about is computer science, but that seems to require super amounts of math knowledge(?).

I hope one day I'll get some well payed job and then I'll get to fulfill my dream of traveling around the entire world(and space!). Also I'd like to live a year or two in some western country(USA, Canada, Germany?) and same for some eastern country(Japan, Korea), to see how the two cultures differ from eachother.

This and the next year I'll try to focus more on studying rather than playing SC2 and watching streams. That way I'll hopefully get good results on my exams(equivalent to SAT in US) on year 12.

I'm kinda sleepy atm, so I hope my blog makes at least some sense.

You could always take international business courses. Many schools also have coop programs where you can work overseas as part of your studies. My sister did this and worked 4 months in Hong Kong.

Study for a technical degree for your career, but also double major or "minor" in your interest of Asian studies (if your universities have that). It doesn't mean any more overall coursework, just more subject focus. You could take a year abroad (your third year) in Japan/Korea to coincide with this study. Going abroad would still give you school credit if you do it through your university.

most pepole don't figure out what they want to do in college until their first or second year. my advice right now, in hs, is take any honors / advanced classes you can, because that gives you a feel for the kind of material you will actually be learning in college. (just that college is a way faster pace, haha)
