TeamLiquid has a proud history when it comes to esports, but the highlight might well be the sheer number of high-quality Brood War and StarCraft 2 casters that have risen to prominence who claim TL as their home or, at least, an old haunt.
This isn’t me. This is Sir David Attenborough. He’s among my favourite people. He holds 29 degrees (more than anyone else) and is a constant casting inspiration.
I won’t intimate that I’m of the same calibre as analysts like Artosis and Day[9], nor have I the sheer tenacity that has seen casters like Husky and LittleMike(Starcraft?) succeed so well in their time learning the game. I don’t have Chill’s impressive sense for just what’s about to happen, nor do I have Milkis’ seamless not-quite-caster EN>KR/KR>EN/EN>EN skills. I am an exceedingly simple man. I don’t have Tasteless’ patented Tom-Waits-of-the-esports-scene gravelpit of a voice, nor do I have Klazart’s incredible six-hundred-words-a-minute Gatling gun of a voice. I am no NuketheStars, no Cholera, no SC2GGRise, even. I lack Wolf’s surfer vibe, and Moletrap’s genuine fervour.
I suppose, now that I think about it, I don’t have an awful lot to offer. I first tried to cast an entire game, but found that I had lost my voice around the ten-minute mark. I understand that it will take training and dedication (at least the minimum eight hours per day that seasoned Korean casters put in) if I want to make it to the top, but sadly it seems that my poor throat wasn’t built for such rigours.
You might have to turn your sound up a little, or put on some headphones. Here is a short cast I’ve thrown together from a video of Col.Minigun:
Please watch it right to the end, I’d really appreciate it.
Now, you may have noticed that the above isn’t, strictly speaking my voice (in a purely possessive sense). As I said earlier, I lost my voice during my first attempt to cast, so I’ve crudely sellotaped magnetic tapes from old Sir David Attenborough shows together in an effort to construct something meaningful.
I hope to be good enough to be sent to MLG as a backup caster next time. Of course, my no-voice issues mean that this is never going to be easy. I’ll need an extensive soundboard and a mixing desk, but I’m about 90% sure that I could do this on the fly, especially if anyone can send me some kind of complete Attenborough back catalogue that I could use to construct a kind of David Attenborough dictionary.
Well it finally loaded. 10/5. One day SirJolt will retire and we'll be telling elitist stories about how amazing blogs used to be. Someone will say remember Riku? Hahaha oh yeah, that was great- but do you remember SirJolt?.
A hush will fall over the irc. Everyone that was there will pay a silent tribute to the greatest problogger to ever blog the game.
SirJolt, as manager and co-owner of a non-existent problogging team, I can offer you a salary of 1.1 million ESPORTS dollars per unspecified time period if you choose to join. Together with Jack McCoy (pending confirmation) and Trozz (pending several lawsuits), we will take the blogging world (by which I mean TL's blog section) by storm. You will travel the world (figuratively), meet (potentially intimately, wink wink nudge nudge) adoring fans (via PM, or MSN if you prefer), and enjoy all of the finest things that ESPORTS dollars can buy.
Being non-existent, our team's track record is impeccable. To date, not one of our blogs has been rated less than 15 stars. I bet you didn't even know it could go that high. And I am proud to say that your chances of being molested by a manager or co-owner are an industry-best less than 90%. Let's see micronesia top that.
So many possibilities await you, most of them not at all unpleasant once you get used to them.
I know what you're thinking: "With an offer this good, how could I possibly refuse?" My thoughts exactly! Also, if you don't join I will ban you. I'll just go ahead and get started on the paperwork. Looking forward to having you on the team!

Nice.
Less than 90% is pretty good considering the circumstances.
The weatherman once said that there was a 90% chance for rain. It didn't rain, and my view on life changed forever after than.
I understand your concern, and I've spent a long time considering it and come to the conclusion that it might not have as big an impact as initially feared. I think that people like Day[9] and Trozz, with their unusually high blog-ladder ratings, have shown that it is possible to maintain a high standard of both casting and posting at the same time.
Indeed, Trozz seems to have discovered some deep poetry-synergy. He's put a lot of skill-points into carefully crafted posts-as-poetry and casted in limerick.
Will I eventually be able to post entire blog posts using only 'samples' pruned from other people's posts?
I think I'll post another one in the next couple of weeks; if anyone can give me somewhere it's possible to get vods of games with sound but without commentary I'd really appreciate it.
YouTube links would be cool, as long as they're HD.
