Well, I'm inside 2 weeks of play still, and I feel like I'm about to move up to Platinum. For those who haven't seen previous posts, I play zerg, I was originally ranked into silver, and I'm trying to advance with 0 cheesy games. My average games/day at this point is 7.5 according to SC2Gears, which is IMO the main factor in advancing pretty quickly - it's easy to get better when you're playing an hour or two every day, and browsing TL and watching replays/MLG too.
Reason I figure I'm about to league up is I've been playing mainly plat players for the past 15 games or so - and it's showing even matches for them. As soon as my W/L stabilizes (I lost two stupid ZvTs in a row earlier today because I forgot to make a pool after my hatch and couldn't defend bunker rushes well enough, but those make me 7-3 for my last 10) I'll probably be a league higher.
I'm still having a FUCKTON of fun. Jesus christ, if I'd known SC2 was this fucking amazing I wouldn't have waited a year after it came out to get a computer that could run it. I take my losses with a smile (with the exception of the second no-pool ZvT in a row - I raged a bit at myself) and every win still gets me SO pumped. I seriously yell and jump out of my chair with my arms up every time. My girlfriend's gotten used to it. I hope.
I've come to realize just how hard I should be working on my macro - injects in particular. When shit gets intense in the mid-late game, I tend to just forget about them while I micro my army, and get back to it when I realize I should be making units out. Really need to work on that...and creep spread...and micro...and crisis management...and using fucking build orders...
But really, I'm having SO much fun, I'm getting better SO fast (in my own mind at least!) and I have PLENTY of time to buckle down and focus on nothing but mechanics when I have some slightly better opponents to use them on...right?

I am in the same boat I simply do not play enough to make the push into masters. With work, gym, studying, reading and watching sc2 I hardly have time to play. Forever Diamond...

jumping on the skill train man, yes!! I used to suck so bad (and probably still do ) but as soon as I decided to stop winning, and start improving, my overall enjoyment of this game jumped dramatically. Keep on mate!

And I'm officially a platinum zerg!
Now I just need to buckle down and train up my macro. Any suggestions for ways to focus on it better?
