I lost a ZvT today, 4v3 base, I had 86 drones. I lost due to a single engagement... My mutas engaged, my lings were late, my banelings come after that, hit nothing.
Tears stream down my face, when I loose something I can't replace I really love my banes but when they go to waste...could it be worse?... Drones will guide me to Rome and bring minerals and gas, to home and I will try...to fix me. Coldplay - Fix You
ZvT can be tough, but hang in there fellow zergies.

I've had it happen. You just have to send in your banes first, then lings outrun the banes before they get there.
But yeah, it sucks whne you have a superior army but engage poorly. On the other hand, I'm sure you've caught many a Terrans out of position before they siege and banelings annihilate everything^^.

Depends on the range, if he is far far away the banes might get far behind, if too close they get oneshotted by the tanks, there is a fine point.
Can say I have >:3

your army should always be pretty close when you choose to engage, otehrwise he might siege up in the meantime!

Roach ling infestor is a bad option vs mech. They will skimp on the thors and add many many tanks
Mutalisks --> throw down infestation pit as soon as you scout mech. Broodlords by 16:00. Don't stop mutalisks before this point as they may push out sooner than that, but they will have 4-6 thors thors and you should be able to magic box your way out of the situation. Broodlords will be able to push their attack back and force them into viking production. You can then add infestors/keep your mutalisks alive to deal with them. This takes away from their ground unit production because each viking is 100/100 or 150/100 (can't remember). A tech switch into roaches might be good here. Stop them from expanding more, keep taking bases yourself.
If they add in marines/hellions don't be afraid to use a few banelings / lings.
The key is getting 4 base and 8 gas as soon as possible with around 4 spines at each base to help deny hellion harass. The gas is the most important.

4-6 thors shred any amount of mutalisks. You should stop making mutalisk as soon as you know that your opponent is going mech. Getting roaches to force mass tanks is okay, as long as you rush for broodlords.
