imjorman United States580 Posts August 12 2011 04:45 GMT #1 And I came up with this - a really rudimentary 1/1/1 that starts with blue flame hellions, gets Banshee, Raven, Maurader. Now since I was playing by myself, I didn't have any collosi, templar, or anything to react to, so just keep that in mind when checking it out: I can adapt. I've never just sat down and played and tried to craft a strat of my own before. I understand the 1/1/1 isn't really new crafting, but I just, for the first time, started playing and tried to spend my money and not get supply capped (didn't happen this game because I was actually trying to "show" my idea). I'm scared of the sub-forum. I've had a post or two in there, but mostly I just creep and let the people more informed than me help everyone I just don't want to create a thread and have kennigit throw down the ban hammer XD But yeah, do I do I 1/1/1 correctly? I couldn't find a 1/1/1 for protoss, so I kinda been watching replays from past MLG's and this kinda felt right. My own analysis: I get 2nd gas to early (Yeah, that's seriously the only thing I can tell from that replay, hence why I'm asking for your help ) I'm focusing on this match-up because I have a terrible time with TvP. My "worst" match-up has shifted as I've gone up in leagues. It used to be Terran keeping me out of Gold, then Zerg keeping from winning against platinum, and now its Protoss keeping me from winning against Diamonds. I can't seem to get out of plat, and most of my loses are coming from Protoss. I have the occasional loss against Terran, but I really want to focus on one match-up at a time. (I seem to have the answer to Zerg at the moment ^^)

Azzur Australia6250 Posts August 12 2011 05:55 GMT #2 Is there a reason why you're trying a "non-standard" 1-1-1? The pros are currently using a marine/tank/banshee/raven unit composition. You may like the 1-base all-in version, but can you certainly do a 1-1-1, expand, and then play normally and push out on 2-bases (e.g. Supernova-style). The reason why it's a marine/tank/banshee/raven composition is that it's good against anything the protoss can throw out. For instance, your hellion/banshee/raven/marauder unit mix has no anti-air and thus will auto-die against VRs.
