Here is the game that took me to D+. Pic heavy.
+ Show Spoiler +
So here I was, 1 win away from the 1st achievement to greatness, D+. The map was Destination with me, voodooscience, on top.
And my opponent, fishark, on bottom.
I haven’t played TvZ on Destination in a loooong time. Not since 2009 probably. But all I know was this, Mech rules on Destination ^_^. Although I don’t know the BO for mech against Zerg, (because I never use it), I thought it would be an epic way to get into D+ and lead to an epic game worthy of a blog.
But fishark had an agenda of his own.
Yup, he’s doing 5 pool. -_-
That sucker….
Meanwhile, I wall off nonetheless, since I am going mech.
It’s been a while since I’ve played on Destination, so I don’t know if this was the correct wall-in, but I was like whatever, no big deal.
Fishark sends a drone to check out what I’m up to
And the 6 zerglings pop out.
His zerglings are on their way, but my Barrack is only half way done….
Then his drone starts to be annoying and tries to keep me from walling.
To be honest, when he did this, I had a feeling that he might have gone pool first build, be it 4 or 5, because normally, a scouting drone that comes early don’t really try this hard to block my wall.
I was like “whatever” I’m just going to do my thing, but his zerglings actually pours in!
Oh shit!
And of course, it turns out, my inventive wall-in was not ling proof at all, allowing his zerglings to freely come into my base.
I knew it…damn it!
I try to protect my marine with scvs, but ends up losing it.
Awww
But my imba buff scvs clean them up to a manageable degree.
To make things even better, while he is focusing on microing his zerglings, my scouting scvs kills 1 of his 4 mining drones.
SCORES!
But nonetheless, his unending streams of zerglings is still a huge threat to my base.
This guys not looking to the future, it’s all here and now.
He has a sizable force, but he attacks the barrack for some reason.
Barrack is buff yo
Thanks to that misjudgement, I clean him up with few losses.
You see that overlord? He’s dead.
But the group of 2 and 4 zerglings just never stop coming.
Omg…
Once I could catch my breath a little, I got my acts together and started a factory that I should have started long time ago.
The key…to end this eternal battle.
But he ain’t giving up either.
Each time, I manage to clean them up, I lose a lot too QQ.
But because of his rally point, he gives me another free overlord.
Thanks man
And as soon as my factory finished and I had 75 mineral, I build a vulture, the ultimate weapon in this battle of life and death.
Time is running short for my opponent.
Vulture is out now, and his two zerglings at a time rush is no longer a threat.
I AM MEGATRON!
And finally, to end this gruesome war, my vulture goes to his base with 1 mission, kill all you see.
By the time his next 2 zerglings arrive, 2nd vulture is there to defend.
Unupgraded vulture vs. unupgraded zergling? SEE YA! WOULDN’T WANNA BE YA!
And like all failed cheesers, fishark leaves without gg.
Kewl
Well….considering that it wasn’t an epic 40 minute mech against zerg game that I envisioned, this kinda felt anticlimactic at first. Certainly wasn’t the kind of game that I thought I would be blogging about for D+ celebration. But not my fault, and nonetheless, it feels good to fend off a cheese and finally reach a D+ hallmark. 250 games….should have been here earlier =P.
