EPTSeason 3 has begun and the musical chairs for the ladder maps has hit. Out are fan favorites like Megaton and in are two new maps. The first is Fossil Quarry:

I haven't played on Fossil Quarry yet, but it reminds me a lot of District 10. The second map, Deadlock Ridge, on the other hand looks a little like this:

I've only played one game on it so far, but I like it (even if some other people say it's imbalanced). I like the dual shared bases with a mutual choke for all 4 team members (unlike Outpost, for example). Most importantly, there are a total of 24 bases, including 4 gold.
(And for the record, all 3 maps that I have down-voted are still in the map pool. I wonder how they choose these things. Let's get rid of Lava Flow please.)

This game was your standard stuff, with me going muta against 3 Terrans and a Zerg. I usually don't get the top score in any game I play and my mutas were a little too effective, so I'm going to say I got a little lucky with my opponents. (They weren't that good.) There was some drop play, some DT action, but surprisingly, I was the only player who went air, giving me full reign over the skies. (You know the feeling.)
Nothing too sneaky going on, I just thought people might be interested in the new maps.
All-in-all, this might be my new favorite 4v4 map. And I don't think the imbalanced is a big deal. As long as the imbalance is symmetrical and let's be honest, we're talking about the 3rd or 4th bases that have the potential of getting sieged. It would be different if the tanks could reach your main mineral line (like in Lava Flow).
Questions:
Based off the feedback I got from Episode 2 about Hotkeys, I made some changes. My biggest change was this:
` = Next Hatch
1 = Larva Inject
2 = All Queens
Space = Control Group 1 = All Hatcheries
I just find it easier to hit Space every time I want to build something. Instead of 4sd or 1sd, it's just space + sd or whatever. I can see how you might not want to do this if you're Terran or Protoss just because everything doesn't come out of the same building, but it's very intuitive and convenient for me ever since I made the switch.
