"I know what my problem is - but im not doing anything about it"

This is my most common thought when im watching my replays, together with "COME ON FFS WHAT WTF ARE YOU DOING, I MUST BE STUPID"

I am able to recognize my mistakes in my replays, i have a base idea of what im doing wrong, but still i continues to make the same mistakes over and over again - not building workers, not keeping production up, not scouting - I see myself make these mistakes, i remember this the next game, i might scout and build workers, but then i dont stick to my plan and do all kind of funky stuff. ( Imagine wanting to go roach hydra as zerg but then going muta/baneling )

In the end, I again, believe i know what my problem is - lack of focus.

With the start of this blog, i want to make myself aware of these problems, since apperently it doesnt help me just "knowing" what im doing wrong, i have to take action in some way. And this it seems - is the first step.

I just want to be better at starcraft 2, screw leagues tourneys and stuff like that ( until i get good at least) i want to improve my skill for myself, not for anyone else than myself. I just want to be good - badly!

Practice a single build order up to late game, in single player, 20 times in a row, trying to avoid any supply caps, missed injects\keeping money perfectly low\moving units around in constant scouting fashion\ hotkeying everything properly as it is being made.
Usually helps a whole lot.

There's dozens of good tips to give, you could "focus fire" your biggest problems, say making workers. And all you do for a couple games is focus mainly on that, making workers, everything else becomes second priority.

Then you could spend a couple games focussing on just making units, any units. Tactics and unit composition are all useless if you don't spend your money properly.

I would even put scouting behind making workers and units. I would suggest focussing on just making workers and units, and simply a-move your attack units to the opponent's base without even paying attention to them. You'll notice soon enough that you create units/workers fast enough to be able to micro a bit as well, and figure out some basic timings.

Even a pro watches his replays and thinks: i could improve there, i should've done that. It's just wrong to think that because you know you did something wrong you should do everything right at once the next game.

Improve step by step. If you see your scouting is bad, start with actively scouting every game, once you mastered that you can move on.

Like the guy about said, the most effective way to improve is to focus on fixing one problem at a time. I suggest you to watch Day9 Daily#257 which he talks about the refining mechanics. here

When you find mistakes watch your camera view to see what you were doing when you made those mistakes.

Being painfully aware of the mistakes was good enough for me to fix them, you just have to know whats consistantly going wrong and be aware of it throughout your games.

I have been inspired by people here on TL, and alot by Streloks's Ambisious Terran - and im playing ~ 30 games aday myself at the moment feeling the impromevent by ( not every game but soso) alot.. playing and focusing on small things one at the time, really is the best. This blog will be updated soon with a "Road to better times(skills)" very soon, where i will post my thoughts and what im doing to improve. Posting here has been the best thing that ive done for a long time.

Thank you all!
