So, I've been grinding out a lot of games on the Korean server in the past day or two..
First, I'd like to state that the lag isn't bad at all there, barely noticeable at all to be honest.
Some people warned me that there would be terrible delay and lag spikes, but I've been able to play perfectly fine and micro properly. Only once did I get a huge lag spike where I ended up getting disconnected. Ironically, the lag happened right when I was about to baneling bust a terran, and ... that poor guy, he couldn't micro at all, however, banelings are pretty easy to micro with lag Long story short, he left the game shortly after.
The skill level is definitely a step up from the North American server... High diamond players are quite skilled :O
There is one problem with the Korean server though...
I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE WORDS "NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED"...
FAIL!!!

o.o, that can be rough. Amusing though.

No idea if this is still current, or if it applies to spoken as well as text, but I remembered seeing it on the tech board.
Relocalizer
Might be worth a shot, at least.

Eh, just a suggestion. Other thought would be to maybe use macro or die maps, if they're available over there. Don't those send nukes at you?

I wish I could play on the Korean server-_- I always enjoyed grinding iccup vs Koreans ORL.

I'm pretty sure you can activate a trial that came with starcraft 2 on the Taiwan server and you can begin playing on the Korea/Taiwan combined server or whatever. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Could you do speedtest.net and ping Seoul, Korea? From work I have >300ms
|
Yah, just did it
I'm 272ms, however the server isn't bad at all for me barely noticable delay hmm.. weird
|
Well you are US (NA) NA to KR is not as bad as EU to KR ;-)!
Edit: From home >500MS
|
For Australians, the lag from US to KR is just normal -_-
EU to KR sucks though - almost as bad as EU to Australia -_-

Just for the record, the korean server is hard as fuck.
I'm a 1900 masters player on NA on two seperate accounts, and on the korean server, I lose to diamond players or 1200 masters players
The terrans are so good it's ridiculous...
Protoss have such good forcefields and warpgate pushes that sometimes it's ridiculous to stop them
And the zerg, well, they can do any style imaginable and do it quite well
|
... How did you get a Korean account?

A pain shoots through my chest when I read that word used incorrectly. I can't help it.
On the lighter side -- hilarious thread. I laughed
