He just up and left. He even lied to my other housemate who saw him moving out and told her I knew and that I had someone lined up to replace him. Dealing with the fallout now as the rent is due on the 5th and scrambling to find someone as fast as possible. Posted on Craigslist, my university site, and various other roommate sites. This really sucks. I thought I could trust him not to pull this kind of crap so I didn't put him on the lease. FML. I really hope I don't get kicked out. Especially with finals next week. God could there have been any more perfect of a ****storm?
Just throwing it out there, any Team Liquiders know anyone near San Diego interested in sharing a room with a complete stranger (but fellow gamer) for 354.25 a month?
Edit: Topic is kind of depressing. Maybe all the Sixth Rangers can help lighten the mood:
Did you at least get first/last months rent from him? Or any kind of deposit? That shit is done precisely for moments like this. You live near a big city though, so I think you'll hopefully be able to find someone in time.
go to the office and tell them the situation. the three places i've lived at have all been very understanding and could allow some leniency on when the rent is due.
why wasn't he on the lease though? that might make the office not so cordial

No, did not get the rent for the month of June that's due on the 5th. The Apartment has a 120 dollar deposit from him which can cover his utilities for the month and the late fee, but I still need to find someone.
how close to the beach? j/k Sorry bro to hear of your dilemma. Contacting your landlord or whoever is in charge and explaining your situation rather than coming up short of rent is probably good advice. Espc if you tell them you are in the middle of finals week. If this isn't an option, you and your other roommate are just gonna have to cough it up till you can find someone.

Good luck in finding a replacement in time, but as above poster said, talk to your landlord.
I actually had the same thing happen to me. Ended up having to pay the full rent that month because of it.
Maybe try explaining to your landlord what happened and possibly delaying the rent that is due to have a bit more time to find someone to move in? I did that and they actually did give me a week or so grace period for the rent, just didn't end up finding anyone and still had to pay for it.
Good luck man hope everything works out for you, I know from experience that it sucks and is really annoying.
I know what happened. It's exactly like Kirihiko's story from W.
He fell in love with a crazy, but hot woman who convinced him to evolve the human race! Yet when he found out the damage being done to San Diego, he could not stand for it! He died fighting for San Diego and its citizens. He could not tell you without putting you in danger and he knew his time had come. Check your roof for a scarf, because this man truly loved Fuuto San Diego.
Edit. I hope this cheers you up or at least helps a little.

hmm can you maybe post a link to your Craigslist ad, Nothing against you but when you say someone just up and left one has to wonder about the state of the place they had to leave. Would be nice if we can see your ad at least.
