If you understand the game and refine your mechanics, which is just practice, you gotta be out of bronze in no time. This can help you in the beginning A LOT, unlike watching commentated reps, where the caster just tells you everything. It's like sitting in school and not paying attention vs. sitting down with a coffee and actually studying. However, don't fall into the trap of trying to play the same as progamers. If you try to micro as hard as them, you can never manage to macro properly. Solid macro is way more important for you in the beginning. When I started, a lot of the games I would just send scv to scout and just macro, expand, macro macro. And try to defend whatever the oponnent threw at me. A lot of times the oponnent won't use your lack of aggression to expand over the whole map, but even if he does it doesn't matter. Once you get these macro mechanics down, you can try to begin poking at your opponent and you'll usually find him unprepared since bronze level macro sucks I guess. I'm talking from BW experience though, where macro is a story of its own.

Watching things is half the battle, you still need good mechanics and decision making skills to win games.

Try to focus on what's happening in the game as such and understand why player reacts the way he does. Over time you can try pausing and imagining for a while what you'd do - then proceed to see the rest of the game. If you're anywhere close you're on a right track of understanding the game. Basically he's referring to videos where you're watching the screen of what the player himself is looking at, as if you were right next to him, looking at him play. Since you mentioned still being in bronze, I don't think getting coached is worth it. It's very easy to go from bronze to gold/platinum just on practice alone, which is where most people start hitting a wall, although it differs from player to player. I think it'd be a lot more cost effective for you to just post up replays of yourself here, and I'm sure a lot of people (myself included) wouldn't mind going through them and telling you specifically what you need to improve on. Don't worry about showing people sloppy or amateurish play; It's the exact reason you're stuck in bronze and exactly what we need to look at to be able to tell you how to improve. As for your goal of achieving a 50-50 win rate, as Vlare mentioned, the way Bnet ladder works is that it tries to keep your winrate as close to 50% as possible. Just because you get a 50% winrate doesn't mean you're improving, because a diamond player with 50% winrate is almost definitely better than a bronze player with 50% winrate. You should set a better goal, like simply becoming a better player or getting promoted to higher leagues.

Obviously I want to be a better player, I'm just at the point now where I'm almost expecting a loss anytime I jump in to a game. Is there a specific place where people post up replays and a how-to to get it done? Or do I just throw up a new blog about it. -S-

It'd be good if you could post short descriptions on each replay you upload as well, like what the matchup was, what your gameplan was, and why you think you won/lost the game etc. just anything that'll help people sort through your replays better for analysis Do I need to upload this to something like sc2replays and then link it in to here or can I upload directly to TL? -S-

I purchased an hour at Gosucoaching and I've got to say that it was well worth it. Tutoring or coaching or whatever you want to call it is simply just a major time saver. If you're busy like me and value your time, it's not a waste of money to invest in a little coaching. Coaching won't instantly make you a pro, but it definitely give you the right mindset on how to improve yourself in the right direction. Say for example you're just going to practice hard all on your lonesome and try to figure things out yourself. If you're extremely good about mimicking other pros from their replays and streams, then you will have some success eventually. If you're trying to figure everything out yourself because you think yourself as an amazing genius then chances are you're going to end going down wrong path to GrandMasters and hit a wall at some point in your career.

Any upload site is fine, as long as it's not a hassle for people to download from.
