EPTI haven't been around tl much lately, but I know there are a lot of tlers in the NYC area, so I figured some of you could clue me in on what I have to do while in the area. I'm going to a lacrosse tournament Friday the 27th and Sunday the 29th, but I'll have all day Saturday to do whatever. I'm probably driving in, so I'll have a car that I'll probably park and ride in from somewhere on the island. The games are at Stony Brook, but I don't know where I'll be staying yet. If you know any decently priced hotels that aren't infested, or anything obscure and not on hotel websites, feel free to suggest that. If you want me to stay with you and have me buy you a couple really nice dinners or something to make up for it, that'd be awesome too.
Anyway, I've never been to New York and this trip happened and the last minute, so I literally have no idea of all the necessary things to do in the city. I'm an amateur photographer, and I'll have a body and most of my lenses with me to shoot the games, so scenic destinations would be a plus. Shopping would be cool too, if you can recommend stores I should check out, as well as restaurants for lunches or dinners. Touristy/artsy destinations like shows, zoos, museums, etc. that you personally think are cool would be helpful as well. I'm up for doing everything myself, spending the whole day with a tler(s), or anything in between. I won't be spending my day at the LAN (I don't play SC2), but I might stop by if time allows or if someone wants to go somewhere after it's over. If it matters to your recommendations, I don't drink but I am of age.
