EPTA few days ago I went out to my friend's house where I brought with me my Starcraft board game. With us four hanging around one of them decided to run a few episodes of Day9 in the background and I found myself enthralled. I owned a copy of Starcraft 2 but I only played the single player campaign and that was it but after watching Day9's analysis in various games just made me really want to break into the terrifying multiplayer and its fabled community.
After watching a few more episodes of his show to get myself in the mood I finally got myself to do the placement matches and I got trampled by my opponents but I still had fun. This was made all the better when after my last match I found myself not in copper but in silver. I thought to myself on trying the 2v2 placement matches too and there I managed to find myself at gold. I was over the moon and feeling more confident as a player.
Problem is at home I have no one I can relate to when it comes to RTS multiplayer. Only one of my friends plays the game and he really dislikes multiplayer. I would love to get deeper into the multiplayer, to have someone to talk to and share ideas with. I need a buddy of sorts to show me the way.
