Anyways, the match after that was a TvZ which I do have to say was a near close call because my opponent was prepping up a nuke after seeing a bit of Ghosts in his unit mixes. Though I sort of had the advantage because my opponent failed to scout early, and thus he relied on one Ghost to search for my base. By the time he found my base, I took down the Ghost Academy in time thanks to my Mutalisks. While I was at it, I forgot that since I usually have my Drone over a Xel'Naga Watchtower and if I have my Overlord generate the creep over the area, I can delay my foes a few seconds by adding a Spine Crawler or two. Why haven't I thought of that before? In the end, it was a sure GG on the opponents part and thus, I won and I got the 5 Win Streak Achievement.
Next match was a ZvZ on Scrap Station, the map which I love and hate at the same time. I lost there due to really piss poor macro and micro and I completely forgot that since the enemy Overlord is near my base, a Nydus Network will be there to rip my base from the inside out. God, I am such a fool for overlooking it. Still, maybe it's high time I actually use Nydus Worms in future matches. Might need an Overseer at the ready for that, though I hardly ever bring the Overseer into battle especially in ZvT, in case of Banshee attacks. By the way, I noticed that in most ZvZ matches, I see players get farther for their first expansion. Hmmmm.....
My last match for today which got me my 25 Wins for Zerg was another ZvZ. It was a pretty rocky start, but I learned from my mistakes and thought of trying to strike the base as quick as I can. While it took me a while to kill the scouting Drone and my opponent had a larger army of Zerglings at his disposal, while I got a few lings and Roaches, I let him take all of my forces out while I secretly kept about 6 zerglings in a separate spot should my opponent attack my expansion with those lings. And did I mention I was teching them up as I wait. By the moment I got the attack upgrades and the speed needed, I had to wait for the time he will strike so that I will do the same. He only had a few lings for defense while I got 3 spine crawlers tucked in the ramp of my main base. And so, I won the match by GG.
I kinda find it a bit hard to understand why do most people say that playing Zerg is hard. I have had a hard time managing a base as either Terran or Protoss in multiplayer. Then again, with the two additional resources Zerg players have to keep in mind (larva and creep) that's understandable. I am about this close to improving my macro even more and I intend on improving my micro should there be moments where I am in such a pinch.
