Dark Swarm
One of the most challenging things for a Zerg noob. And I have used it successfully for the first time.
Being a D- Player, I don't have the mechanics to use Dark Swarm. This makes my ZvT late game incredibly hard, and I am only able to win lategames by surprising the enemy with Ultras. If it gets to there. Then I watched the VOD of Chill about the 3 Hatch Muta, and he said, that most noobs tend to go to Ultras to avoid the hard-to-use defilers. So, by his advice, I went defiler.
Now, I have the first time experienced the power of the dark swarm. I didn't know that using dark swarm was so satisfying. Not that it is the first time I used it, but I always sucked at it. This game shows me the bliss of playing with defilers. This game brings my faith back into ZvT. This game makes me want to practice more, and at the same time it holds me off playing another game this evening to not destroy the euphoria I am in now. The euphoria that makes me write a blog a TL.
And if you happen to actually watch the Rep, could you give me advice?

O wow this reminds me a LOT of how I used to play ZvT. I did the same thing, mutas into mass ultras with armor hoping to kill them with imbalisks before they get anything that can deal with it. Defilers are SOOO satisfying though and thats why it always so good when you win.
Im using a computer with no BW (what fail i know...) and so I can't watch the replay but good luck in the future! :D

Haha, I love getting to hive against a 2base bio terran that doesn't like moving out for some reason... 3 dark swarms and youre in his main with no unit deaths and his army gone <3

Main thing about dark swarm is that as soon as you have it you should take your 4th and tech to ultras.
Zerg vs Terran has kind of gotten weird. You need lurker tech to hold your 3rd, defiler/nydus tech to hold your 4th, and then finally, when you've got ultras, you're allowed to expand like normal. If you expand before those timings you often find yourself having a lot of difficultly holding expos.
Then again, this style is just about holding those expos with basically nothing so that you can drone a lot more. If you do a 2 base lurker ling the game looks quite different, but then you are under a lot of pressure to deny terran expos and kill his army.

hehehe this is cute.
Enjoy the defiler.
Always group the defiler with a group of zerglings. Never group them alone.

Always group the defiler with a group of zerglings. Never group them alone. Or together. In the heat of the moment during an important battle you select you hotkey and 4 defilers, 4 overlords, and 4 scourge come up. Swarms are not cast effectively and you lose everything

What if you they just kill you before you get armor then? That's why you go defilers

Do you hotkey your hatches? I see a lot of idle larvae through the game, and it's a lot easier to go 5sd6sd7sd or 5sz6sz7sz than to manually click everything.
You also gotta try to work on constant overlord production. You go from being stuck at 18/18 for a while to 28/59 a couple minutes later >.<
Your build of course needs work--little things like delay on the research of consume and a bad 3rd base placement (you have to put it at another main so you can defend one ramp with lurkers) but that's the kind of stuff watching progames and mass gaming will help.
Anyway, cool to see you practicing with micro intensive units--I'm sure it'll improve your multitasking a lot in the long run. (also lol, your opponent is clearly not used to having to deal with swarm EVER)
