As I mentioned in my previous blog, I was going for the three barracks, one factory build, followed by starport for the sneak attack by banshee. Aside from poor tactics, there are a few reasons why I am sucking so hard:
1. I focus way too much on APM.
Like the novice I was, I was fucking spamming the hell out of the right mouse button to minerals and I am trying to do act before thinking. It's unnecessary and it's a habit I really must stop right away. I should learn to take things slow, try to focus on the build I want, and if I fail, least I learned something from it.
2. I was playing against the style I want to play out of pressure.
In the past games I have played, I have always played defensively. Recently, I was trying to take the initiative and it bit me right in the butt. I never was good with being aggressive. My play-style has been more about being sneaky, which is why I love using banshees on most of my games.
3. I should learn when is the right time for me to build supply depots.
I was too focused on making a lot of units, that I forget to make supply depots three or four times so far. I need to learn the right time for me to make depot. I was thinking along the lines of making supply depots when I got 5 supply left. If you got some tips of your own, hopefully you will let me know.
4. I keep pressing the wrong hotkeys by mistake.
Whether it's assigning a group to a certain hotkey, to even setting up a rally point, I always screw that one up. One point, I was supposed to use my Command Center hotkey only to find that its been replaced with an SCV. I am sooo DERP!
5. I take this game way too seriously.
While I have played my share of RTS gaming, Starcraft II is the first game I ever got to play online (LAN doesn't count). And I keep forgetting what Day 9 mentioned on his videos that playing Starcraft II is all about fun. I got nothing to lose anyway, so why take this game seriously?
6. I should play online often.
I play about 1 online game at least and the maximum amount of times I played Starcraft was 4 times. I need to play that game a little bit more and hopefully it will all come down to me naturally in time, which could take a while. But hey, Starcraft II ain't going nowhere!
Anyways, now that I have gotten all this out of my chest, I think it's time for me to get some rest.
