Now, I'm not putting this in the strategy section because it's not a matter of life and death (and i dont wanna be banned LOL)

This replay shows a build I'm very fond of using in Typhon Peaks PvZ (I'm P) the build itself is simply 3 gate -> Dark Shrine -> 2 DTs -> expand. In the replay, I win using that build.

Now, onto why i posted it here, 1st off, for any lower level Protosses (or higher level) that maybe want to play around with the general idea of the build. Second off, I'm no pro, I'm looking to improve and I really like this build. I am asking ways to improve, and optimize this build.

For example, i am often floating very high in minerals (500-600) but am too scared to expand due to very low gas count and saving up for DTs means very very low sentry count. What should I do? should I throw a nexus and a bunch of cannons? make a bunch of zealots?

The ideal in this build is to get a ton of worker kills, then move out with blink stalkers, 5-8 sentries and 2 colossi. As you can see in the replay I achieve all these aims, my questions is how can I achieve them sooner and more efficiently?

Finally, I use this replay as a call to arms to my fellow Brotosses, please, for the love of Aiur, start mixing in more Dark Templars, they are fricking AWESOME!

IF your floating high minerals and wanting to expand i really reccomend throwing down cannons, especially as you dont have robo tech you wanna be safe from a burrowed roach attack, just my 2cents on that part of your blog ^^.

In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with floating high on minerals if you have something to do with it in the foreseeable future. For example, once your DTs are out, you'll have a lot of map control since he needs an overseer with him at all times at his base unless he gets more overseers (costs quite a bit of gas) or spore crawlers (takes a while). That's when you could do something like expand and add cannons. Just theoretically.

The alternative is just getting gas sooner so you're more even.

And as a Zerg player, DTs are gay.

You didn't sumarize the build very well. gate => DT. You're skipping 3 buildings, core, TC, SHrine. Order/timings etc. Then you say you warp in 2x dt. But if you're on 1gate, thats 30sec wait for the 2nd dt.

I have a 3gate dt expand build that I've been doing for most of the lifetime of this game that someone has tried to claim recently, I think it's in the strategy section, you should look into that.

WATCH THE REPLAY! i'm not giving you a build order, i'm summarizing the intent of the build.....or did i hack and make DTs without a core, a council and a shrine? -.-

i used to do a very very similiar build. But i found that there are certain hard counters that will roflstomp this build, and this build is very easy to scout out. Even without scans T can look at your ramp, you won't have nearly as many stalkers/sentrys as you would normally. Also if your Zealot heavy they know u are either going Air or DT's = they add a turret or 2. In which case you have to keep your dt's in the middle fo the map to try to keep them from moving out. Also with the slow nexus the T can turtle up and will usually come to the conclusion you either have a sgate producing or Dt's otw. Also any kind of raven play/early push KILLS this build. Had a Terran do this vs me and it was just so sad.

Also if they kill your 2 dt's and follow it with a push you are dead. You have invested too much in them. Possible you could try a forge and 3-4 cannons with the extra minerals (I too have noticed this build you get a lot of minerals be4 you can safely throw down a nexus at your natural.) But i haven't tried this yet as I now play a 2gate robo build vs terran.

But i have to agree with the fact that DT's are awsome. Even in your armies. If vs a T or a Z they start overmaking viking/corrupters i switch to immortals/dt's in place of the colossus and it is SICK.

Also vs Zerg Blink stalkers + Dt's = amazing cause you can snipe overseers and then your Dt's just massacre all.


Also i have a new PvZ opener i LOVE on big maps like Taldarim and Shakuras, that i was going to post today since i am finally off of my ban, but now that there is alreadya new "my PvZ" blog in the blog section, i will wait till yours is not on the front page, and until mine is more refined and worth posting.

........this isn't a PvT build, dude. I don't want to use it in PvT, i never mentioned PvT...you went on a massive rant about something completely unrelated. BTW, 3 gate expand is way better in PvT then 2 gate robo.

by 3 gate expanding, you can put a lot of pressure on terran, contain them and expand, and if they expand before you, most of the time a standard 3 gate will break the front and force a lift or kill the CC completely. HuK is the prime example of that, he breaks many terrans with his 3 gate stalker pressure
