Low ladder is certainly turning out to be a most cheesy place. I have two accounts and the one I am referring to is my play around account where I am currently gold. I use it mostly to play off race, try out fun things and such, but man oh man what a boring league the lower leagues are. Yesterday I played a total of five matches on my gold account and in all my matches I was cheesed by gold and platinum players. I meet two Protosses who naturally all-in 4 gated since that is the only tactic that seems to work both on high and low level and is easy to pull off. I meet two Zergs (which is pretty rare now days) and both of them roach rushed, although in one case I scouted a10 pool and just build some spines and roaches myself and waited to crush him. That was fun. And the one Terran player I meet went 3 racks bunker rush.

I am just lucky I don’t need to play in the lower leagues, but just out of fun. I can’t imagine how utterly boring it must be for like 80% of all SC2 players to constantly cheese each other to get a win. I also think it is pretty bad that I now can’t play around testing new things on the ladder without being cheesed within the 6 min mark. Hey people! I want to build my infestors and destroy some of your shit before you beat me! It’s almost like low level people have given up hope on becoming good at macro and is trying to score easy wins by just cheese all the time. I mean they must realise that they are eventually going to end up in a higher leauge being hopelessly defeated by early scouting and will only win if they manage to dodge being scouted. And that is hardly a good way to end up, you will just get knocked down again.

Cheese is a part of StarCraft, but almost everyone is doing it down there. I feel genuinely bad for the few players who try to do a macro game but fail constantly to cheese all-ins. You can hardly practice macro on your own level and it is not like a cheese player will be able to just change tactic once he has entered masters and believe he can go par on par with the master level macro players.

Hey,

Well this is exactly why I don't ladder. Everyone just does some weird crap. Where's fun in getting cheesed? If I want to play a macro game, I can do that much better in custom games or when opening my lobby for public. The thing in low leagues is, that people mostly want to win, no matter what, so they climb up. The way they do it is of no concern to them, as long as they get influx of wins. So, what choice do we have? to cheese or 1base all in as well? Sorry, but that's hardly any fun. That won't teach one to be a better SC2 player. So, I totally know where are you coming from... <.<

On a good note however you get A LOT of training on handeling cheese and rushes. Too bad most players in low leauges suffer from bad micro so most of the time you will be safe if you don't make a mistake and pull some drones/scv/probes or what ever.

I play mid-3k masters and tbh, I still get all in'd every other game. The difference is that at high levels it's called a "timing push" while at low levels it's called cheese.

If you learn how to defend these types of builds you will improve, it's just not super fun to deal with =)

Or you know, optimize your macro build to be cheese proof and finally move up.

Yo,

I feel that in order to get better and into higher leagues it is necessary to be able to fend off cheese and early attacks, so anyone who wants to play macro should start to learn their micro and safe build orders in order to do this, right?

But I do understand how you feel, don't get me wrong. I myself am a high gold, low plat protoss player and have far from perfect micro and build orders so I too get cheesed quite a lot. Just saying that it's one way to play the game too so I'm not a hater towards cheezerzz

i feel you dude. I was in diamond last year around september. Got use to playing at least a few macro games every now and then and started enjoying the game.

I stopped playing for about 5 months and when i started again, i dropped way down into silver again when i tried playing with toss and zerg in february.

Its quite frankly a disaster down there. Every game is 6rax rush, cloak banshee rush, 6 pool, 7rr, 4gate all in or dt rush and when they fail its instant gg.

I hardly ever get to expand. Its either over before i get a chance or i have to use some 1 base counter to win. I honestly dont have fun anymore which is why i dont really bother to log in.

Rather been playing crimsonland to pass the time and its a shitty game
6 poll is a good skill toi have
