In Canada, we have a coffee and donut chain called Tim Hortons. It's like Dunkin Donuts I guess, but the coffee is, in my opinion, much better. I suspect they put crack in their coffee, I maybe go through about 2-3 extra larges a day.
A couple of times a year, they run a promotion called Roll up the Rim. The cups have rims that you roll up, and you can win prizes like a free donut. coffee, bagel, muffin, moutain bike, TV, boat, cars, etc. etc.
The promotion is currently in effect in British Columbia. It's been going for about 3 weeks now.
I haven't won jack shit.
I'm gonna bust out some math here for you. If I only drink 2 coffees a day, then:
21 days x 2 coffees a day = 42
42 coffees over 3 weeks is ridiculous. I know of a guy that has won 2 bikes these season!
I want a free coffee god damnit!

In my experience the Roll-Up-The-Rim odds have always been really good, at least for a donut or coffee. I haven't shopped there for a couple of years now, but I hear the last couple of contests have been really bad for odds. Sucks to see it go from so awesome to so not

The best part of winning coffees is that you get another rim.
What rim techniques does everybody use? I finish my coffee, plunk the lid in the cup so it faces me and the arrow to roll up is right in front of me. Then I take both hands and squeeze the cup for the lid falls in and roll up with my thumbs. I've seen silly things around the U like people using their teeth and stuff.

They have Timmy's here in upstate New York.
IMHO, Tim Horton's coffee is pretty terrible, and I consider myself a non-novice coffee drinker (I have a French press at home and grind up various types of beans and blends).
William's (in Canada) has much better coffee for about the same price. I know a lot of people hate Starbucks because it's overprice/mainstream etc., but Starbucks definitely has better coffee than Timmy's.
If you add both milk and sugar to your coffee, then pretty much anything tastes the same.

This is the only way to roll it. I've had to teach so many people over the years after I see them gnawing at their cup.
I'm at about 5 for 18 this year which is pretty good especially since only 1 was a donut and the rest were coffees.

Dude, I'm so peed off at Tim Hortons right now. I drink at least 1 of there coffees a day.
Since the start of the season I have only won a donut. 1 donut.
I worked midnight shifts at a Timmy's during some of high school.
Pretty damn easy job, people who work there mostly the ladies and underpaid supervisors do nothing but bitch. They make decent tips, but make there job sound like hell. I also had 2 sisters who worked at a different Tim Hortons. (I'm a triplet)
I can vouch for them though, no one wants to be with a minimum wage job.
I'll let them into my world one time, there job compared to a professional kitchens level of stress.

haha I'm living in Buffalo, NY atm and me and my sister have gone every damn day on the way to class and only won one free coffee...its insane how unlucky I am...I actually gave up on ever thinking that I would win ever good luck with that though

I use my teeth get the lip out then use my fingers. My best friend does it that way and I've done it ever since even though it looks stupid.
