Before the ladder closes for this season, I wanted to get the Top-25 milestone (in Silverleague.) In two days, I played from #29 to #23. Yesterday I checked and I was on #25, probably because other guys want to have that milestone, too. Ok, I began to play until I was too tired, and got down to #27.

M-m-m-monster FAIL!

I did learn a bit in those days, for example that speedlings into muta works very good versus protoss on macro maps, and baneling into muta is better versus terran than roaches into muta.

Still, I will end up with Top-50 Silver in the first season. I am not worthy enough to even mop the floor in Kerrigan's lair.

Good news: Since the reset was not performed yet, I was able to play to #23. I hope I don't fall down below 25 until Blizzard resets the ladder.

lol don't worry about it ^^

The little ranking things really don't mean much... especially if you're in silver league. You will likely continue to improve the more you play and come the closing of next ladder season be going for top 25 diamond or even masters; this little fail moment will be long forgotten

My prediction (you'll have to make another blog if I'm right) is that you will be top 25 in plat by this time, next season. Improvement, I find, comes in bursts so you may plateau for a week or have a fail moment like this, then go 20-5 the next week.

It's just a small trophy and it rewards more activity than skill, I still want to achieve the things I could achieve without toooo much commitment.

I have the issue that I am a very slow learner in real time strategy games. I get to a certain point fast, but then the progress is really slow. I mostly die to two things:

- One-base-Terrans who drop me, I have 3-4 bases and (now this is the problem) 3000 // 1500 resources.

- Protoss with Air. In the last games I just build some spores, and it seems to work ok.

Due to the mass gaming I done because of the milestone I like to achieve, I learnt a bit. Now I use mass roaches only in ZvZ, I build way more lings versus Protoss and I have good success with banelings versus Terrans. Also my general overlord spread gets better. I still suck horribly, but a bit less than before. It's nice to feel a kind of progress even if it is a small one.
