Hi, my name is jimmy and I'm curious about what people's thoughts are on how GAME resolution affects overall control!
For instance, in FPS, I've found a lot more success with 1024x768 than 1600x1200, I guess mainly due to that there's less possible pixels you could misclick, or something like that...in general, mapping where your mouse goes in your head seems to become easier as the grid size lowers. but what do i know? give me your ideas!
putting this in blogs because I don't think it's specific or thought out well enough to be put anywhere else. so thanks for any input!

I think this kind of thing would be much more crucial in FPS games. In RTS games, as long as you're comfortable with your mouse sensitivity you shouldn't have any problems (or differences between resolutions)... i think.

I've always had more success with a higher resolution.
One other factor is the static friction and kinetic friction between your mouse and mousepad. If you have a much higher static friction than kinetic friction, moving a couple pixels may be more difficult.

I like a higher resolution for non RTS games, mainly because I have more pixels to click on and that gives me greater precision. It's nice to have a guy's head be 10 pixels wider than normal on a giant screen. But for RTS games, you have to look at supply and minimap a lot, so bigger screens can make your eyes burn out pretty quick from having to move farther around the screen.
