Very entertaining Code A lies behind us, compared with last season or earlier seasons' early rounds, the entertainment value has increased drastically. Still half the competitors are terran, but the games don't suffer from this in the slightest.
Code A Round of 16 Recap and Prediction Analysis
+ Show Spoiler +
Losira 2-0 August (1-2)
After their previous matches, I was rather surprised not even that but how Losira won these games. I like his playstyle and look forward to next rounds with him.
HuK 2-1 RevivaL (2-1)
Glad that I was right on this. HuK seems to have overthought his PvZ, still in rather close matches, he beats Revival after three tense maps.
Virus 2-0 GanZi (0-2)
The success of Moon at IEM lets this look less surprising, but for me in the first turn, Virus being this better than GanZi surprised me and I am rather dissapointed with a before impressive GanZi.
Coca 0-2 Leenock (1-2)
Leenock proving once again he is the ZvZ King in Starcraft2. No real competition here.
Rain 2-0 Jjun (0-2)
This was a very weird game. I neither did expect Rain to play this solid, nor Jjun this sloppy, in combination Rain was far ahead and won these matches with ease.
Alicia 2-0 Noblesse (2-0)
Alicia is to look out for. Apart from his stupid name, you cannot find any flaws in his play, this is a Code S candidate.
SuperNova 2-1 Alive (1-2)
SuperNova and Alive fighting each other in what I would tend to call a cheesefest, at least the first two matches were decided by cheese in one way or another, on the last map, SuperNova was just better than Alive and brought it home.
Jjob 1-2 Killer (2-0)
SangHo, from a slope in his play seemingly recovering, finally displaying Starcraft2 again. Did play very well in these entertaining matches, overall the better of two solid opponents.
Code A Round of 8 predictions
+ Show Spoiler +
LosirA vs. HuK
HuK getting the third Z in a row, one could call that grid luck, as his preparation goes in one flow. On top of that, LosirA displayed weak ZvP against LegalMind, therefor I see a clear victory for HuK without maploss here.
Virus vs. Leenock
Leenock had only Zergs so far and stomped those, Virus on the other hand only played on Zerg, but that is called Moon.
This is a three mapper that could go either way, but I think Virus will win this in the end.
Rain vs. Alicia
Although Rain played well in his previous game, this is where it ends. Alicia was on fire so far, not dropping a map and tearing Noblesse apart previous game, the same will happen to Rain.
SuperNova vs. Killer
SuperNova, the survivor of the previous high paced low supply TvT, playing against strength regained SangHo. As SangHo dropped a map in his TvP in the round before, and SuperNova slaughtered IEM third place Squirtle. So I see SuperNova, although maybe the overall weaker player, coming out on top after three maps.
