So proms the 9th of next month, and I had this friend in mind that I was going to ask.
Some things to keep in mind: Me and my friends (the stoners/party-ers of the school) are goin all out this year (junior year, i really dont know how we're gonna top this next year) and we're going to have a double decker bus and getting 2 hotel suites for after the dance.
The girl i wanted to ask has a thing with this other guy, and we were all hanging out the other day, and she was like, "I really dont wanna go to prom with this guy, cause i dont want it to be awkward, so ill go out with him after prom."
And i thought to myself, hell yeah, i should ask her. She hangs out with our group of friends, shes fun, she's sexy, she's down to have fun with us after the dance.
So i was going to ask her when she was going to her 6th period, and she was walking to the class with that guy, and i didnt ask cause i didnt wanna make anymore drama, so i just waited till tomorow (today).
Later that night, i texted her friends to ask her to see if she's not going to the dance with the other guy, and as of 10 PM last night, she wasnt.
So.... i woke up an hour early, went and picked up flowers in the morning, and i was in a hell of a good mood too. And 10 minutes after i got the floewrs, her friend texted me telling me that the dude asked her way late last night. And i was like, you gotta be fucking with me.
But i still asked, and finish what i started.
Moral of the story: just do it. Dont fuck up like i do, and ask just ONE day late.

Man, you want a bad prom story? My senior prom date was a girl I fell in love with in Junior year, but she moved to Germany. Somehow, I work out a way for her to still go with me to senior prom. She flies back to atlanta to go with me, and the night before Prom I get grounded for "bad grades" (2 Cs, 3 Bs and an A), and I'm literally locked in my room the night of Prom. My parents even knew she had flown all the way here.
EDIT: I didn't mean this to sound like a "WELL, THATS NOTHING" post.
OP has a good point. Its always* better to man up and do it (whatever it is you're considering doing). You'll know better next year man.

Is this a "Share Your Prom Disaster" thread? I'll assume so  ...or rather, 
My prom date (who I really, really liked) spent the whole post-prom sitting at a table texting another guy then left without saying anything to me. We were pretty good friends before that. Now we don't even talk.

My prom story just last month,
I went to our prom, sitted for 5 hours, everyone passing by gave me the "LOL he is doing nothing"-look, and thought to myself "what a 5-hour yawnfest, playing or watching TvTs right now should be better than this".
I guess I'm just too much of a nerd to enjoy prom, or even dance once. No regrets, doing it again next year.

That's incredibly harsh.
Sucks that your timing was off, OP. You should still have a good time at prom and the after party, though. I never went to a single dance or prom in middle/high school. Don't really regret it, but yet at the same time I'm sure it would have been a good experience to go.
On a girl related note, I just went to a frozen yogurt/crepe shop just to see this really cute girl and talk to her for a few minutes. :3

That's horrible. You should find an excuse to lock your parents in their room on some super important night for them. Seriously, if I had a girl coming from halfway across the world to my senior prom, and my parents locked me in my room, I'd probably have torn half the house down. And I'm normally a pacifist. I made my mom's life hell for a while when she made my first date ever awkward by telling me not to have sex on my first date to the movies at 14. Seriously.
Basically they thought you were definitely gonna have sex with her because it's prom and she came from so far away. So one or both of them decided that they didn't like that, probably because she lived in Germany, and they decided to come up with an excuse to lock you in your room. Honestly, I'm all for keeping the hate in the world to a minimum, but that deserves some revenge, dude. If I'd cared enough to go to my senior prom, (I chose not to) and I was forced not to go, I would have been mad as hell.
You should break their tv.

Well, prom disasters...
My high school prom wasn't exactly a disaster, but I can't say that it went as planned. I dated this girl of my dreams starting grade 12 (equivalent of senior year in US terms). She was the kind of girl that just puts a smile on your face, you know... anyways, things went sour around January, she broke up with me in that month, I couldn't gather the courage to talk to her the next month, she largely ignored me in March, I somehow managed to ask her anyway on April, got rejected. So I went ahead and quickly grabbed some other girl I was friendly with for prom. I kind of felt bad about it but didn't want to be alone, you know.
Moral of the story: just grab someone asap.

the sad thing is u took it, and you're giving advice on "better ro man up and do it" . i would've said "fuck you" to their faces and walked out-> went to prom-> fucked a bitch.
Then afterwards if im not kicked out of the house, have an awkward talk with my parents, seeing how they probably pay for everything u own.
