First set of 1v1's complete!
I've decided on race, and I'll play Protoss. I feel more comfortable with em and that's about it.
I only managed to fire away about 10 games, a few of those were as T tho (and FYI, my TvT is f*cking useless as it is right now). My P games went OK, altho I seem to have a problem against Z that I need help with.
The first game vs Z that I played ended up in me being lingrushed back to the 1900's. And then I got flashbacks to the release. It didn't help that the same problem occurred when I played 4's, three times in a row.
But I feel the issue is that I'm being played with. I get stuck in my base in fright of an possible ling rush. The chance of securing a second base seems further away for every second that ticks away. And when I finally feel prepared to push out with some gateway units supported with an immortal or two, mutas harass my mineral line. Even if I knew that this would've happened, I still don't like the idea of sitting around in my base waiting for the perfect 200/200 army and then push out. The problem as I see it is that these zergs just build lings and spine crawlers (like 6 of em) for defense, and then use the mutas to harass probes.
I need tips on how to feel more secure about this.
So day 5 finally ended up in 6 games.
PvT 1-0 PvP 2-0 PvZ 1-2
PvX 4-2
I'm not disappointed in the results, it's just that I need more self confidence. Need tips!

Hey man,
Great to see you so enthusiastic about getting into the game. If you post a replay or two of your games, myself and I'm sure other would be more than happy to critique!
Playing more and more games on the ladder plus watching your replays will give you more timing experience. You can study a replay for example and work out when would be a good time (I use food counts) to push out or expand judging by what the enemy has.
I know everyone says that but macro is really important. So I think the best thing to do is post some replays so we can all give advice on your game!
Cheers!

feeling comfortable means either your mechanics are so spot on that you know your opponent timings and arent concerned with any of his potential choices ( FLASH from bw) or just scout your ass off like the rest of the us ungodlike players and you still feel pretty good. also on the way to that protoss ball you will have many attack timings to exploit and only experience and watching replays will really give you the feel
glhf message me if you want to play a few..im zerg and i maybe suck a little less than you so ill be happy to help. lol or maybe you can help me.

and 4 zealots pushing out before zergs get the chance to mount a defense to 4 gate is pretty good unless you scout that roach all in garbage

Hey, what league are you in and what builds are you kind of feeling out for each match-up?
As you play more matches, you'll hopefully start to smooth out those strategies and feel more confident on your own.
I play Protoss too, at the mid-diamond level
Make sure you take advantage of all the spells that Protoss has to offer- things like forcefields, guardian shield, charge, and blink.

I will post replays by the end of the week Thanks for the support!
DarkPlasmaBall:
I'm probably mid/high diamond right now. I feel pretty comfy against both T and P. I dislike meeting Z, but that might be an experience-problem tho.
I use pretty much all abilities actually, but I dislike the immobility against Z (lings and mutas). Guess I have to fetch Blink faster.
