After the success of our previous maps, we want to present you this new macro map called "Gulchy Backdoor"
The main idea is that we don't want you to run into an expansion which is well defended by some siege tanks. Therefore we added some map features, which allow the player to attack even faster on one very macroheavy base.
Hidden in one main base is the Thor. He has a very familiar layout. There probably aren't too many early game threats or difficulties in terms of gimmicky strategies you need to worry about.
A couple of SCVs are already waiting. There is no time to lose! But do not forget to set the SCVs on autorepair.
Another map gem is this 4 Gate. This is a very strong build and only requires additional Pylons.
We have not forgotten about the Zerg! Just touch one of the Pools with a Drone and the 7Pool is yours.
Do not worry. We made some adjustments to the ramps. The choke point by the natural expansions were often too small; it was possible to block them off easily using only a few buildings. Not on this map!
We also added some rocks, because rocks aren't plain. Plain is bad!
The key to victory in some games could come down to how long you hold your Natural, hehe. I cannot wait to see the finals of a major event played on this map.
Just to be clear: For the best possible experience, we do not allow custom ladders. Nobody would play on them anyways. =.=

Location 003 is the FML spawn
I personally think Blizzard should have rocks where the main nexus/CC/hatch should be
start each race with 400 minerals and let the player choose whether to take down the rocks with workers or make a base by the rocks. completely non-gimmicky play imo and definitely not boring a la Shakuras.

Needs more rocks in my opinion, and maybe some more Xel'Naga towers.

This map is great. I mean, do you REALLY want to build your own structures?
|
I think the map is lacking on backdoors and rocks personally, makes the map uninteresting.
|
This map needs more marauders.

Nice! Is this map for real on blizzard ladder? Im a BW player and I dont play sc2 but even I can see that it is horrible! Giant ramps to couple with the already good pathfinding of units in sc2? O.o
EDIT: Nevermind... I saw the original version of this. It sucks, this is better!!!!!!!

There isn't a huge problem with this map, but I felt there aren't enough interesting features of this map. The natural expansion is easy to take and defend; there are only three possible attack paths only one of which is generally used, and main bases aren't easy to harass.
Here are some pointers from some professional map makers I heard from earlier. - Make the map as small as possible, macro games are long and boring. The more bases there are, the more boring the game becomes.
- You need to add a backdoor into the main from the second natural (explained below). Don't forget the rocks, they are extremely important. The main needs to be easy to harass, or be able to be killed by roaches or marauders 6 mins into the game.
- Xel Naga towers should be placed at the one, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, positions five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, positions, nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, you get the idea.
- You should always have two natural expansions. (Blizzard made the game, they make the definitions) However to make sure that players can't actually expand until 20 mins into the game, it should be put on the other side of the map. This is so Terran players can float their first Command Center over to their main-natural and expand into their natural-natural, which should make for some interesting games.

At first I was gonna whine that this is a troll thread, but I guess it's kind of humorous considering Blizzard's maps really do suck this badly.

There should be more rocks, that is not nearly enough.
