i will get two small, female kittens today and i'm still not sure how to name them. I'd love either some geek-names (For example i first thought of Ada - after Ada Lovelace, the first female Programmer - but dropped the name because it didn't sound right for a cat) or something related to Starcraft Lore. What names do you suggest? Or how did you name your cats, if you have any? | ||

I'd probably call it "Ling" if it's a girl and Thor if it's a boy. (Ling in your case) So SC2-fans would get the reference but you don't have to explain the name to non-initiated. Edit: Oh snap, I didn't read the OP right. You'll get two.. I'll get back to you on the second female name. | ||

Basically if you can picture a mentally retarded cat, thats my Stupid kitty. Love him to absolute death, and he's like 16 years old. As for your cat, and girl names to boot...Lingy seems like a good one, I guess the other could be Mutalisk? Muta for short, or lisk for short, Lingy and Lisk. Ya that kinda works. | ||

Or go with some favorite characters, like mine would be Fenix and Zeratul. Fenix is good as is, but Zeratul is a bad pet name, maybe, Zer or Zerry. Or pick some favorite programers, Boxer, Flash, Bisu, July, or w/e. Ooo, or Nal and Ra, if you happen to be a dreamer fan. | ||

Though on a slightly more serious note if you want to be really nerdy with the programming terms you could go with Push and Pop, Try and Catch. While writing this I realized that generic programming keywords double as pretty convincing Korean Progamer IDs. Foreach, While, switch, etc. | ||

Since they are just 4 month old i'm still open to change my decision though. (Pictures follow as soon as i can shoot them (with a camera of course), currently it's really hard to make pictures since they are exploring their new home and checking all hiding places). It would be fantastic, and they're both easy names to "call" or yell. My family cats are named sparta and ninja -- horrible names to call. I just call them "ki-eee" (sorta one slurred syllable) with a grunty voice and it is now what they both respond to. Occasionally I'll call the one "ninj" but sparta is just atrocious on so many levels. EDIT: Ling and Lot would be my vote, boy is Lot! Also my sister's nickname is ling... from back when my dad first played starcraft she was called "sarah-ling" for whatever reason when little. I think I'm the only one who still calls her that with out even realizing it. | ||
