Not gonna even start arguing about whether or not offensive language should be protected in online video games, but it's common practice now for online video games to have warning and ban systems in place for racial slurs and offensive language. So he deserved to be banned at least in the sense that he should've known what he was getting himself into.

Wow, I've not heard anyone call anyone a jew as a form of insult since like the first season of south park when I was still in school until now. Kinda funny to get temp banned here for complaining about a temp ban on SC2 though.

Yeah, I personally think that with the ability to block players, banning for this is stupid. After playing other games, especially DotA on WC3, it just seems outrageous that you could be banned for anything you could possibly say. I don't like the way banning for language has been adopted from WoW to SC2, because it didn't make sense there either. That being said, this guy's a moron.

Judging by other posts of his behaviour on other sites etc., just seems like the type of person we don't want on here

in USA at least, jew is a common insult, though it's usually to insult someone due to thrifty actions
such as: "That Jew could sell me my own car!" or; "I just got Jewed by that deal"

my guess is because his post was not useful at all except to show what kind of person/attitude he was.. and to some people, what he said can be really offensive (sometimes it's better to suppress your feelings, regardless of what everyone tells you throughout your life)

I totally agree, it would be unfair to not give him the chance to learn from all the supportive feedbak he's getting. One can only hope he will return and realize how disrespectfull he was, and cherish the second chance he undeservedly got.
