yeah it's easy to get mesmerized by videos like this. not a fan of how the languages sound in the south eastern countries (japanese ftw), great video nonetheless.

Edit: This is a PV I found last night from the Japanese group Pefume. It's pretty cute, especially when the cats come out, but cute in a different way from the OP's. I love the song, though. It's catchy. If you've never heard Pefume, go look up some others songs, like "Chocolate Disco" and "Electro World".
I've always been suspicious that I'm weird in that I'm not attracted to Asians. I think this pretty much confirms that suspicion. I can see why she's attractive, but it just doesn't do it for me.

I can understand this song for the most part, her voice doesn't sound like shes uh whats the word forgot. Anyway shes not 1st language thai or w/e, i say that cuz she sounds like me and all the other kids in USA that try to speak our own language. But I could be wrong.

haha, this language is possibly the closest to gibberish I have ever heard. Cute presentation, but this language compared to Spanish, Portuguese or French, languages in which you might expect to hear this sort of song to be sung, is severely lacking charm!!!!
I hurried home as fast as I could to check this thread After many many views including most of my time at work today, I figured out who she reminds me of. Not sure if anyone else sees it, but sometimes her facial expressions, especially around the mouth area, remind me of Alyson Hannigan!
Maybe I'm just not indoctrinated yet, but I can't say I care for the lyrics. I don't mind Japanese or Korean singing, but Thai is too grating for my ears. Stilted, I suppose is the word I'm looking for.

Well in the video some phrases sound like cantonese. But overall you are right that it sounds nowhere near mandarin or cantonese. Just note that foreign languages from the same region (eastern asia in this case) sound identical if you have no prolonged exposure to some languages there or even speak one for yourself.
I bet you would have difficulties distingushing nowegian from swedish or swiss-german from german (they are different languages because even i as german native speaker cannot understand most sentences spoken by swiss-german speakers i understand about as much as i understand from dutch sentences).

I cant speak japanese myself but her accent is really strong and makes it sounds kinda funny ^^
hmm, I don't speak japanese either, so I don't have any way of telling how strong her accent is, though her chinese is pretty accented as well, but quite cutely of course I still like the Thai version anyways :D
