Hey guys I'm considering starting a youtube SC2 lesson series focusing on some of the more abstract "strategic" ideas and concepts of SC2.
I was hoping to get an idea of what topics people think I should cover. This channel will mostly be catered towards the "thinking gamer" from silver to low diamond.
--Edit--
Since some people have expressed interest in it... let's take it to a poll!
Poll: Include a "Korean Word of the Day" segment?Yes (3) 100% No (0) 0% 3 total votes Your vote: Include a "Korean Word of the Day" segment? (Vote): Yes (Vote): No

I think a very important thing to focus on is the concept of expanding while attacking, and attacking for a reason rather then just randomly. I'm not sure what else, or if thats the kind of advice you're looking for

I don't get it, if you're starting a place for lessons, shouldn't you have an idea about what you need to teach?
I read this as "Hey guys I'm going to start teaching, what should I teach?" O_o?

Metagame, all of it. The idea behind maps (and why 2 thor drop TvZ is not only the consistent metagame build, but also why it's so strong). Why the current maps are terrible (every one =_=).
How to fix P, T, Z, in terms of balance (while doing it at the same time as the metagame and balancing team games).
The idea behind only allowing one mothership.
(these are all just topics that i'm interested in hearing about, do whatever you want ^^)

i think hes more asking like "what would you want to hear first" rather than a list to not forget anything

To be honest, most silver to low diamond players aren't actively looking for new ways to play, or looking for explanation for certain losses. Instead, they just play the game. When you actually try to become better, you can easily reach mid diamond level, so your main audience will most likley become mid diamond.
Ofcourse this is just what I asume what will happen, but I doubt people will really learn from speculation until they are top top diamond level. Until 1500 diamond or so, you should just play the game and watch the replays of your losses.
Besides, Day9 is probably a better source.
I'm just being honest.

Maybe something about strategical army positioning? What we see today is army ball vs army ball, people should learn how to use more than one hotkey for army.
But would be really cool if you made an Youtube Channel for Korean Lessons SC:BW and/or SC2 themed.
Like, teach us the korean grammar using GOM articles or something, dont know, just an idea!
You might get a ton of subscribers from TL

Might? more like certainly will, especially if you teach terms commonly used by bw/sc2 commentators

I'm surprised there's such an interest for learning Korean!
I'm not sure I'd be qualified to teach the Korean language since I'm not really familiar with linguistics and a lot of the rules and sentence structure is stuff I do subconsciously from speaking the language while growing up.
I think it'd be interesting to maybe have a "Korean word of the day" as a precursor to each one of my videos. Is that something that sounds interesting? And if so, what kind of words do you think would be of interest to the community? SC2 unit names? Analysis terms?

As for the lesson ideas, I have a general idea of how I want to approach concepts and of course have ideas of what I want to talk about, but I only have maybe about 10 topics swimming around in my mind. I'm just looking for general brainstorming to get a few more ideas so I don't run out of content too quickly.
Strategical army positioning is part of a subject idea I have about how to fight battles. That's the type of stuff I like to talk about. Other ideas I've had are build analysis focusing on how a build should be played instead of focusing so much on how to get the units that identify a build.

Attack timings, how to scout them, and how to add variations to them to throw off your opponent.

Given that you're catering to silver to low-diamond, I'd suggest mechanics being a pretty big focus. Most people below diamond simply have horrible mechanics. Get a player to constantly build workers, use hotkeys effectively, and have passable unit control and with one decent build order per match up they can make diamond.

Teach some manners!
As for Korean, only Korean words related to StarCraft would be necessary, of course.

What do you mean by manners? Do you mean manners as in the intricacies of being manner in a Korean culture?

I think teaching some of the SC Korean slang would be a great idea. A lot of people watch the Korean GSL stream from time to time, it would be great to have a bit of a lexicon to help follow better, even if it's very cursory.

here's some concepts u might want to consider:
> how to use an advantage > mind games > tactics/army movement > proper resource planning etc etc

Time to see if there really is support for some sort of small Korean teaching segment!
