All you need to do is make sure he can't kill your split up units, and burrow gives your best chances for that. It's not like your opponent can run through a force field wall, and it's not like they last forever. Plus, your roaches will regen and come back less wounded for a counter push. The burrow forces your opponent into getting robo and observers, which means he has less a few less sentries for force field spam. 1 observer destroys that idea. Try again.

All the fights in SC2 play like all the campaign missions "Kill the evil zerg! Use your abilities to make him helpless!" The problem is that sucks for the Zerg player. Just one-way micro tasks.

I would like to see Zealot/Sentry with Ground Weapons upgrades used more frequently, because both units gain a large percentile damage bonus from upgrades whereas Stalkers do not. (Colossi and Archons as well.) On November 08 2010 01:24 fdsdfg wrote: The natural evolution of a Protoss army winds up with a Robo and colossus - especially if you're going roaches. Observer is just a little bit of robo build time. Besides, burrow tech is not cheap. It's 200/200 that really isn't being used for anything else, because there's no reason to burrow anything once P has observers. Burrow is 100/100, and was very useful in BW for a variety of things, including blocking or sniping expansions and scouting the map. Proper observer coverage (not just a couple) costs a lot of gas that could could sentries or templar. For SC2, it's a no-brainer... fast-healing Roaches and burrow-moving Infestors is great, and you can still use it for other units (it's just not very useful in the middle of a fight if obs are present). Tunneling Claws is a harder sell. It's more expensive and only applies to one unit. If you're using a lot of roaches, it's very strong... but is it strong enough to justify building a ton of roaches in the first place? The problem is that sucks for the Zerg player. Just one-way micro tasks. The Zerg micro task is to minimize the effect of Force Fields/Storms and such. Zerg/Terran units generally demolish Protoss units unless Protoss units are using magic tricks... so naturally Protoss magic tricks are very powerful. For the Zerg, proper flanking, positional play, and well-timed attacks/retreats will greatly reduce the threat of Blink/Force Field/Storm. Just as strong timing and positional play by the Protoss will make them more deadly.

Besides, burrow tech is not cheap. It's 200/200 Burrow tech is 100/100 after getting the lair, and any zerg expansion can also get the upgrade. If two roaches are saved from a force field split, then it has paid off.Tunneling claws are 150/150, and are not required at that point.

Yeah I mean forcing a protoss to go robo/observer is key to winning, it's so expensive and so hard to get that the P won't have any ground units. /end sarcasm Please.
