After winning a ZvT on Xel'Naga Caverns I was delighted to see that I've finally passed the 2000 point threshold on the ladder. Obviously this isn't an amazing feat, but I'm proud of making it this far.
The game itself was a pretty good one. The player I beat was also 2k+, and he kept the pressure on non-stop. He opened rax, fac, CC, and thanks to my poor overlord placement, sniped some of my scouting ovies, and established a nice advantage very early in the game.
From here he transitioned quickly into a 4 rax+tanks push that very nearly took out my natural.
Luckily zergling speed finished just in time for me to salvage my expansion, but after his push I was both down in workers, and on equal bases with a Terran player.
Lucky for me, my opponent forgot his ebay (or missed the timing in his haste to kill me) and started taking some pretty significant damage from my first mutas.
As I continued adding mutas, the Terran player made the decision to sac his eco and go all-in with a counter-push.
Once again, I was able to barely defend (but this time at the cost of my natural) but to my surprise, my now SCVless opponent did not tap out, leading me to take this cute little screenshot:
I knew the game was in the bag, though, and continued to add mutas while double expanding, and piling on the banes.
That sneaky Terran bastard did ninja a gold expo on me (how did I miss that?) but it didn't matter. He was too far behind to hold my final push into his nat, tapping out, and seeing me over the 2k mark for the first time ever. (yay!)
