I don't really play sc2 all that much so I'm going to have to ask you guys this... What happened with respect to Terran being decisively overpowered? A month ago every thread in the sc2 forum was "terran is so easy, lol" or "zerg so weak, lol," but after Cool won the GSL that seems to have gone away.
So was Terran completely overpowered a month ago (and still is, as that patch did basically nothing to nerf Terran) or was the game pretty closed to balanced then?
Also, in your opinion, what races have natural advantages over which? (ie in BW it was T>Z>P>T).

once upon a time there was a patch that fucked terran over basically. The changes were SO retarded that everyone agreed. All of the zerg that switched to terran because over the overpowered ness went back to zerg and all of the "true" terran fans remain. The end.
In my opinion as the game is in it's current state. Terran is pretty weak.

Ever since the patch it's sort of evened out, with zerg possibly being OP.
Except I think it's more that Terran aren't adapting like zerg had to for 2 months or so. I mean, we won GSL while supposedly an OP terran and a UP zerg. Yet it seems, at least at 1800~ diamond level, that all terran have resorted to either cheeses or all in's. Like almost every single one complains zerg is OP, and they HAVE to do cheeses/allin's to win. Yet really, they haven't really tried anything else. I'm waiting for a savior like Idra/Cool was to zerg to come up with a new stable build.
And honestly, there are. oh yeah, should mention patch changes
Barracks requires supply depot(so long for creativity) Reaper speed requires factory(so long reaper builds) zerg buildings hp was buffed, roach range to 4, protoss nexus hp buffed.

So there was a patch in the past month that nerfed terran considerably? Can someone link me to the game changes in that patch?

Do reapers have any use now? Isn't the new vulture (car thing with flamethrower) a better version of it @ factory tech level?

You can't make a barracks without a depot and reaper speed requires a factory. Roaches now have 4 range which means hellion/reaper kiting them is basically impossible. The reason its a big change is that terrans had tons of options 2 standard ones (hellion and reaper) and lots of others to give them an advantage in midgame. Hatch first is possible almost every game thanks to no rax first. Now most of those options are shutdown zerg can get into an even midgame and is doing just fine vs terran..
TvP hasn't changed and I thats a very dynamic matchup right now. Arguments for "imbalance" can be made for either race.

the hellion costs 25 more minerals than a vulture and has no mines
I prefer vultures

The latest patch made Z maybe a bit too strong so what we have now still isn´t a complete game, needs a bit tweaking. How much depends on what new stuff Terrans can discover now before the next patch.

And yet when Blizzard said the same exact thing about Zerg a while ago nobody bought it and kept complaining anyway~

Sorta weird to have a tough time with ZvP now, just never thought that it would happen.

The game is approaching balance and Terrans aren't used to it. Zerg went for weeks without balance changes so we could see how the game would settle; I suggest Blizzard keeps this policy. At this point we can't definitively say if Terran is still overpowered, balanced or underpowered. The possible openings of the game have changed drastically and we need to see how it evolves.

Really? I still find TvP pretty Terran favored. TvZ is pretty hard now though

Basically, T had to make a huge blow of Z's economy to be EVEN in the mid game. Now that a lot of options (reapers, hellions) are taken out and that the Z can always (at the moment) go hatch first, it's really hard for T. The easiest way for terran to win atm is some kind of 1 base possibly 2 base all in, not letting zerg to get to the mid game. I am not even talking about late game, that is completely unplayable. T will adapt soon, it will just take some time. Still, at the moment, ZvT is heavily Z favored.

Heres what happened. Zerg players who had been playing for months with an underpowered race, and had learned how to tread water vs Terran players early aggression due to superior skill.
Then they buffed Zerg roach range, and forced Terrans to make a supply depot before Rax. Since Zerg players were use to stopping much more aggressive early pressure from Terran, Zerg can now deal with much of the harass easily comparatively.
So now Zerg are OP if your a Terran player, cause you simply cannot harass a Zerg to death. Terran's actually need to actually have fair mechanics to be successful vs Zerg. This causes Terran's to complain.
In the long run i think this will actually be good for the match-up. I think Terran's are going to have to start setting up slow methodical death pushes, that take patience and skill.
